CBR1000RR SP Woolich Remap First Ride Review

Finally got the chance to shakedown the SP since having the Woolich Remap 🙌
Seems to have resolved a few small niggles and MY WORD is it quick!!!
Would happily say across all my bikes, remapping is the best ‘modification’ I have done to all of them but especially with this bike. I highly recommend an ECU flash to anyone, especially if you have an aftermarket slip on exhaust and even more so if you have a full system!

I love your videos. I have a 2018 Supderuke 1290r and looking to trade it in for a smoking deal on a 2019 CBR1000RR SP.. This may have been just what I needed to tip me over the edge and pull the trigger on it. I love the KTM but I also have a Ducati Streetfighter V4S (humblebrah - ha) and don't also need the Duke. I have a custom map on my 2017 ZX14R (another humble brag!) because.... why not, and I really like it. It turned the ZX14R from a really fast bike into a Holy SH*T bike! When I get the SP I am going to install a Woolich and custom map it with my dyno guy. I am thinking to leave the stock pipe on the SP and just get a mid-pipe and lose the kitty liter box. Keep making videos, I like your energy and passion for the bikes. BTW - your 2016 CBR was a gem. Cheers from Southern California!

I’ve had my SP (2018) for a month now as fast as it is I’m now thinking about the remap to smooth things out and more midrange punch , best bike I’ve owned and on par with my 500 two stroke for thrills 👌👌keep up the great videos 😊ps if you want to try out my YZR500 Marlboro let me know I’m sure you will enjoy her 😉

I have the perfect tune to unleash the beast in your SP. And I can calibrate for tire and sprocket changes - and do it on the street ECU hard coded or with the Sport Kit unlocked. And I now offer ECU flashing local in the UK if you find the USA too far off :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4enk4GGbL58kKs

Great video! Love the outro. So the negatives were due to the exhaust? what is the bike like as a road only bike? I’m thinking of chopping my speed triple rs in for one. Bad decision?

Funny you say that actually as we had a speed triple R in stock recently and my colleague sung its praises, absolutely loved it to the point that he was thinking of keeping it for himself, so the bar is apparently set quite high! SP’s are good road bikes but the preset suspension compared to the previous gen is rock solid even in A3 (softest setting)! Also your height will play a part in ride comfort. I personally love it but when I get on my black edition it’s like being on a fast arm chair. I don’t doubt the SP is goi g to be an amazing track bike, which is what I bought it for 😊 I believe the exhaust caused the lean running and flat spots.

I have 3 questions if u dont mind 1 did u tune your bike ecu 2 if u didn't tune your bike ....did u lose any horse power after u removed the servo 3 did u instill a servo eliminator

Hey 👋 Yes I got the Ecu reflashed. It would still run sort of alright with a slip on exhaust and the servo removed (I removed cables but kept the servo plugged in) but it will run rich which you may find noticeable. The difference before and after reflash was like night and day for me, highly recommend it.

Haha me too!!!!! I’ll find out on Tuesday whether it gets through noise regs with a baffle in at brands (101db) otherwise I’m taking my stock can incase as a back up, but I’ve heard even that can be an issue sometimes! Also my bike is mapped so the baffle might make it unhappy 🙄

Just got mine today 🤩 yours has all the goodies, an amazing example! Will you change to race shift? Will you be getting upgrade for the ECU? without it you can’t access ‘sports kit’ on the dashboard apparently. I haven’t tried fettling with the electronics yet just standard mode 1 and go! Would love to see a video including all these things regarding changing the shift pattern, and your thoughts on the lack of access to a mode effectively hidden by a Honda paywall 😡 If I want to change the profile on my tire or the sprocket set, I should be able to set up the sensors to accommodate for the changes 🤪 what do you think?

Piers Kontic ahh awesome man, happy for you!! 🙌 I’m going to leave this bike alone for a little while and just enjoy it after spending a lot of time and money on it already! In order to change to race shift pattern you will need to buy rearsets first which is on my list of things to buy in the future so may change to race shift. HRC Race kit isn’t worth the money to me as this Ecu reflash has done everything I wanted and as for tyre profiles and sprocket changes, you can go up to a 60 profile with no electronic issues I believe however sprocket size changes mess up the electronics, unless you are saying you can do all this with the HRC kit?

I’m definitely putting a 190/55 on after I get through the Pilot Road 2’s on the bike currently 🤯. Can’t understand why the pre-owner put these on but I’ll use them to get used to a blade again. Traded in an RSV R for it so it’s like night and day at the moment 🤓 Will be interesting to see your track setup in the future, great build so far!
