The girl, yes. Man I have a 13 yr old son. Accelerated gifted student. The youngest jlc. Leaded ever. NEVER even sniffed trouble and some dude who later admitted he was having issues at home, swung on him only to have my buddy defend himself. After all of that. My son STILL got in school suspension. They are expelling our children for things that wouldve gotten you a 3 day suspension in my time at school.

Go to court. It was self-defense if he didn't start it and since no Staff members/security members were there to help and protect him, he had to do it himself. He had to defend himself. The school said that their decisions are to keep ALL students safe. Surely the court won't say, If there is no staff to help then just take the beating... Or don't fight back (and make things 10 times worst with bullying and more fighting.) What the heck is going on at that school!? But also are you sure she only thought it was normal candy? Kids know a lot these days. With all the media(music, internet, TV) and the chatter amongst themselves, she surely had to know it was an edible. And where is the whole video of the fight? How did he end up on the ground in the first place!? It Sucks he had straight A's and got expelled. There is still hope. It's not the end of the road. Sounds like they both need a better school. The whole education system needs a work over. Get the good teacher back. Teach the students the stuff that matters, and inspire the youth to make them want to learn again, not fight, or not do drugs! Someone to guide them in the right direction and keep them from bad. For all the students!

The same thing just happened at my sister's school. The kid lied and said it was an allergic reaction until he started to hallucinate on the school bus. She and the public said the girl was a victim of drug dealers selling dangerous drugs in the suburbs they never acknowledged that the children and parents are responsible for their actions. The mother said her daughter would never decide to smoke marajuana on her own and she believed peer pressure forced her.
