I would have reacted the same way. I'm retired and home a lot. I keep my cat's carrier out with a 'go bag' of food, water etc. stored in it in case of emergency. Animals are amazing. I am in NC that had horrific floods from hurricane Helene. A dog was found 30 ft up in a tree sitting on top of debris that had washed the dog down the river. He couldn't get down. A search team got him down via a ladder. A store cat in a farm store wisely made it up to the rafters to ride out the flooding.

I saw in one video where the firefighters were taking mementos and antiques out of people's houses when they had no water to stop the fires from burning down the house. They started doing so that the homeowners would have things dear to them from their homes when they returned. I just thought this was so touching, sweet and very nice. I'm sure when the homeowners saw their things laying in a pile on the concrete road in front of their house. They were overjoyed and so happy to see they didn't burn up.

I know this fire started when many people were away, leaving many trapped pets and caged animals like rodents at risk. Ibwish there was a plan to rescue all animals before the houses catch fire.

Ok wonderful .but who went out to rescue neighbors . Or just people . I heard one story .a actore who saved his elderly neighbor . He got out yhen relized his elderly neighbor may still be in his house . He started to call the neighbor s son then that led to the police and fire fighters . Sure enough .he was in the house . Tucked away in a hidden bed room .the care taker abandoned him . Neighbors need to set up fire watches to help one another and help evacuate Orderly . Its time this has been happening for over ten years . Help each other . Drive out together .intstead of twenty cares possibly five . Yhink about it. Thankyou for yhe story .
