We understand budgets should reflect inflation, but only to a degree. A HUGE portion of our budget is from fixed costs, not affected by inflation. For the county's budget to grow parallel with inflation, or exceed it, is unconscionable. People's income has not kept pace with inflation, which has gone up 29% since the mayor took office. Those of us on fixed income like SS, have lost the equivalent of about 26% of our purchasing power in the same period. And frankly, I don't know where our money has gone. I see a reduction of services, worsening services and worsening condition of our infrastructure. I see roadways with unrepaired potholes, an international airport with broken escalators, worsening water quality in canals, lakes, and beaches, traffic lights that are still not synchronized, less police presence, and I could go on. I'm not voting for this mayor again. Mayor Cava cannot defend any of this, and she cannot point to any progress on any front, despite her claim to fame gargantuan projects. Where are they? I believe our money is not well spent. There are misplaced priorities, and diversion of Trust funds must also be taking place. Her management of our finances deserve an independent investigation. We've had zero accountability, and with that, total impunity for this mayor to run us into the poorhouse. We lost control of the expressway authority. That too is a black eye. Gosh, I could go on, but I'll stop there. Enough said. Wake up Dade County!

The Mayor lied on nearly every question. Christian Ulvert came to my house and offered a quid pro quo to drop out of the race. The incinerator is going back to Doral, everyone knows it. The Mayor claims to know everything but knows nothing at the same time. Commissioner Regalado has the contract to operate the jails, yet the Mayor doesn't know? She mentioned this 2 weeks ago to the Miami Herald. This Mayor doesn't pay her share of taxes and has committed perjury on her Form 6, you didn't ask about that even though you have the evidence. This is all smoke and mirrors and you are culpable in the bamboozlement of the public. How much did the Mayor pay you and CBS for this interview? How much did the Mayor pay to keep other candidates off your program? Why haven't you mentioned any other candidates or had them on your program except Otaola who everyone knows doesn't have a chance to win? There are federal lawsuits against the county because of constitutional violations by the county. No mention...Jim, you are bought. Where is my interview? I'm on the ballot (Miguel Quintero). How much do I have to pay for an interview like this? What a sham. You are on notice and I'm calling you out. You have done a great disservice to the public and you should be ashamed. I bet you take down this comment because you know full well you are allowed to be bought and you are. You and CBS have the right to censor and remove comments. But this will still come out. The public has the right to know the truth. The public has the right to know the Mayor engages in dirty politics and no mention of that. The Mayor and her business partner Richard Cava engage in illegal activities and no mention of that. You have all this evidence. Again, no mention. Budget has grown a thousand per year you would think we all the new housing that we wouldn’t have taxes increased but we still did. In 2022 I paid 800 and now in 2023 4500.00 that’s literally my 3% yearly raise to taxes instead of me enjoying the money I made .

There are so many challenges to running a county than one can even imagine! Politicians are human beings. DLC has done more for Miami-Dade residents and our natural landscapes than the last mayor. Daniella has my vote (again).
