Michelle Obama says it was never easy being the wife of a driven politician. The demands of campaigning and politics strained their marriage, and they sought help in couples' therapy. In their first national TV interview together, Gayle King also spoke with Marian Robinson, Obama’s mother, about her eight years in the White House.

People call her a freeloader. But the WH has empty rooms stop it. Plus the food issue is solved the president pays for the food his family eats in personal/private meals. I would assume when having state meals etc there is a budget. I also assume when traveling on AirForce one for Michelle's travel the entire plane can hold people. Hotels they could double up in rooms. Girls in one bed, granny in the other. Grandparents live with family daily & it isn't anything shady or weird. People just nitpicking & trying to find fault.

"Freeloader"??? Really?? The way it sounds to me is they didn't get a free ride. Yeah rent/mortgage but that would be expected since they were living in the WH. Since you think they were " freeloaders" then the other, what is it 43?, presidential families that came before them were "freeloaders" too?!

Melania's bum mother and father are immigrants who came to America in front of other people and got a green card. ALL first ladies have an office and a staff. Melania who isn't an elected official called for her husband to fire one of the people on her staff because the woman leaked the details of the cost of her African trip. Michelle would never do that. This brought tears to my eyes because I miss my mom so much. She passed 20 years ago. You never get over it, just learn to live with the loss. I miss all the special moments we shared and believe it or not, I miss her nagging me about the small stuff...who'd a thunk it, right (LOL). I cherish her memory. Love on you mom while she's here.

The most gracious interview with Michelle Obama and her Mom is that you can tell where Michelle gets her can do and positive attitude from! I loved, loved, loved how her mom said I want to be like "Michelle Obama when I grow up!" And Michelle responded "Oh, Momma!" That is true love between mother and daughter! This is why Michelle was so loved! Because the foundation was lay by her mother! I enjoy everything I see and hear about Michelle Obama! Michelle Mother is one class act!

I watched this with so much nostalgia, respect and honor. Mrs. Robinson represents traditional southern American black mothers who migrated to the Midwest and other parts of the country bringing their beliefs and culture with them. Concepts like Extended family, respect for elders, religious beliefs of treating others as you would want to be treated are evident in traditional American black family life. I was raised in the same tradition and my daughters and son are benefiting from that tradition as well. Many other cultures have a strong familial tradition (Latinos, Indian, Asian, etc..) too but it’s rare to see American black culture depicted on tv like this. I’m just so happy that My country had the opportunity to witness a traditional African American family in the White House. That tradition and culture of family ties is what has prevented my ethnic group from becoming extinct or from completely crumbling. Thanks CBS for giving us such a poignant interview.

Ok now watching this makes you feel good in other word they appeal to your emotion but let's talk substance now in the span of 8years what exactly has Obama accomplish and done to advance and uplift black America was Obama part of the solution or part of the problem did he made a difference and left the world a better place than when he found it
@whisper2284
@whisper2284 5 жыл бұрын
@@raultiangson5666 You ask great questions. Obama wasn't the president for African Americans only. He was president for all Americans. It is insulting to say a president belongs to one group and will do their bidding. A part of being equal is to allow all groups to act like the average American. Nobody asks what Kennedy and Clinton did for Irish people in the slums of Boston or rural America. Nobody asks what Bush and Reagan did for Welsh, Nordic people living in America. Your question puts Obama in a classification as other. It's unnecessary. So the appropriate question is what has Obama done for America?

When I arrived at the exit of the airport, I knew that the taxi would be waiting for me. Suddenly I saw a lot of taxi drivers with a cartoon with the name of the person they were waiting for. Suddenly I saw one taxi's driver with a cartoon over which it was written "Michelle Obama". I directly walked to him. He was my taxi's driver. I was sure of it. Because I always say, when someone is asking my first name "Michelle, as Michelle Obama". I love so much this woman.
