I used to watch ER...I miss the earlier seasons. It was one of those talking by water-cooler shows. She was ready to move on from the show and go to "The Good Wife" and other opportunities. I'm glad that her and Clooney's characters got the proper send-off

I think she didn't want to be too associated with E.R., that's part of the reason why she left. She was also attempting to transition to being a movie star. So she didn't get the $27 million from E.R., but she was in movies for those two years. How much did she get paid for those movies? She would have made way more money if she would have become a movie star, but she didn't. She then was on The Good Wife & made quite a bit of money. Its a tricky business, maybe she would have made more money, but had less opportunities going forward if she stayed on E.R.. She was thinking long term, and I'm sure she was afraid of being typecast.
