And look at all the increase in computer knowledge like google. I think that there is a stark contrast between those who have the love of God's truth and those who love the knowledge of the world. @@snb2186 I have to disagree. Bible chronology adds up to 6000 years based on the genealogy of humans, so human history... not the age of the earth. Genesis’ account of creation uses the Hebrew word Yom, which has a dual meaning of a literal day and a period of time. Much like how grandparents says “back in my day”, they are not referring to a specific 24 hour day, but instead a period of time. So the days of creation could have been hundreds of millions to billions of years long with no correlative, set time.

They lined the paper themselves. I saw a special on PBS about the origins of paper. At least, that's how they did it in writing manuscripts. Most of the Dead Sea Scrolls were written on parchment, the same type of paper that was used in ancient manuscripts.

I think the discovery of different objects in one place over different time periods would probably spark more questions than provide answers. I think at the very least all of those objects were last seen by a person roughly 2,000 years ago, but were the older objects there first, or did the people 2,000 years ago bring those objects from elsewhere and place them in those caves. I would find it strange to think that the people who wrote the scrolls and left the coins were oblivious to the mummy and ancient basket that was there with them. The wildest thing to think about is that basket was about 4x older to the people who left those scrolls than those scrolls are to us today.

They said the fragments date from the time of the early church; more correctly, they date from the end of the Second Temple era, when the Romans destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem. As the Dead Sea Scrolls have not been shown to be directly connected to the nascent church, it's more correct to say that they have some connection to Second Temple-era Jews. Like Jesus was.
