Hurricane Beryl passed by Jamaica as a Category 4 storm, bringing fierce winds, powerful waves and torrential rain to the island. It is now a Category 3 storm heading toward Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.

Beryl passed Grand Cayman at 5:30am this Thursday morning, about 60 miles south of us, as a Cat 3. We did not lose power or water. The sea on Seven Mile Beach looked like glass. It was so smooth, but no, she passed us at 10:30am. The waves were starting to build, and a bit of rain. Thinking of the others who were deeply affected.

It just amazes me that people decide to travel to the Caribbean Islands during hurricane season, then cry about getting stuck. I'm a Floridian and a never plan trips to the islands during hurricane season. We've had enough of our own; I don't need to experience one somewhere else! Smh 🤦🏾‍♀️

Our Almighty was really watching over Jamaica. We couldn’t take any devastation as was predicted prayers for the other countries that are damaged people life. I’ve been ripped apart because I know they will not get any any help from the government. My prayers are with those who have lost the loved ones.😔🙏🏽

Has the hurricane been hitting the wealthy people or the poor people the most. I see so much destruction, and I fear for the Florida Keys in the long-term. Millionaires can rebuild and go on with life they can always buy more stuff. The poor people work their lives away to get what they have, and their lives are never fully recovered

@@davebryant8050 I live on a boat in the Florida Keys ain't slept on land in 15 years. Water quality is way down and the frequent red tides are killing people sinuses and making them sick last year the fish oil disappeared and I was used to having hundreds under my boat constantly. The last summer every last one just disappeared. And it's getting a lot hotter down here. You're building a house right next to me the buying price for a home is about 1.2 million. Yeah they'll keep jumping dirt in the yard until the water's up to their porch
