Some would think that saying it’s run on SOLAR generated electricity would be important. 🙄 Running on electricity isn’t exactly special.

Don't most buildings run on, wait for it, electricity?
@TrevorBrass2 ай бұрын
Not for heating, water heating, or the kitchen appliances.
@Innerbrave2 ай бұрын
@@TrevorBrass Natural gas heating is efficient, electric heating is a bit more efficient, but also can be much more expensive depending on the heat needs of the building. Plus, the emissions from industries such as power generation are so much greater than from water heaters or gas furnaces. I don't see much of a reason to push all-electric unless it makes sense in that climate. The real push needs to go to EV innovations, and nuclear or renewable energy.

Why not walamrt and other big store can’t use their parking lot for this?
@filanfyretracker2 ай бұрын
I am honestly surprised stadiums do not cover their parking with solar. Its a huge area so it would make a lot of power and speaking in business terms it means on non game days their lot is making money and on game days its double dipping. The panels make them money selling power and the lot itself is making probably $40 a car.

There is no evidence that anything like that would happen but even if there was snow the panels are angled so the snow will fall to the bottom.

The amount of emissions used in the mining operations that are necessary to acquire the rare metals needed to make solar panels and advanced heat pumps and inverters and batteries… But let’s not think about any of that. We’ve got good feelings to feel.
@gemmeldrakes27583 ай бұрын
It's always a trade-off. The alternative is using electricity generated using fossil fuel, which also creates emissions, both during drilling and when it is used for fuel. The reasoning behind solar panel use is that for the situation right now, it is the lesser of the two evils. Unless we can get nuclear cold fusion sorted out soon.
@GrantDWilliams823 ай бұрын
@@gemmeldrakes2758It isn’t the lesser or two evils though. It’s the same as conventional power sources, if not even dirtier.

it their energy was coming from coal prior, yes this quite possibly is much greener long term even when you factor in the the mining and production of the battery & panels
