She forced stores to rope off aisles in stores like arts and crafts in the same stores as groceries during Covid because she felt they weren’t necessities (despite kids staying home). She denied citizens from boating until her husband got busted, and she denied citizens from traveling up north until it was time for her holiday. Most of all she shoved Covid patients into nursing homes killing seniors in those facilities. Still proud and happy of the “great” job she did. This Michigander say no.

Imagine a world were election campaigns were limited to only 3 months, elections were limited to public funding and the media was required to provide a limited amount of airtime in the public interest for campaign ads. Also image the president being elected by the national majority so candidates had to compete for the most votes in every state instead of just blitzing a half dozen swing states that decide elections.

So I largely agree with this, but moving from the electoral college to the popular vote wouldn't change the blitzing of a handfull of swing states, it would just change what states a blitzed. You can't be everywhere, so you have to choose where you think you can run up votes. Would be Texas, Califonia, Florida, New York, Illinois, Massachussets

That is an electoral process that I, and much of the electorate, would welcome. Imagine the Supreme Court decision on Citizens United (that corporations are people) being overturned, that elections weren't overly-influenced by dark money and millionaire/billionaires, and that we weren't fast becoming an oligarchy with unlimited potential for bribery. Then we might have a better chance of electing leaders who truly had the best interests of the voters in mind.

I live in a province in Canada that closed bars and restaurants for a period of time when we did have to lock down and stay home. So what you're saying makes absolutely no sense so clearly it's a lot more nuanced than what you're claiming. No doubt it was probably a recommendation but not mandatory.

Number 1 Walz for me as he has strong Mid West and blue collar appeal with his down to earth style, strong on labor, excites younger and female voters with his policies. Strong speaker. Followed by Beshear and Pritzker. While Shapiro helps with Pen he hurts Michigan and Wisconsin. Kelly if you want to go very centrist, which I don't think is the right move, and mediocre speaker. Cooper lacks charisma.
