Popular members-only clubs such as Soho House are part of what's been called "the golden age of the private club." An estimated 3,500 private clubs in the U.S. now host nearly 2.5 million members, offering exclusive experiences for a price. Roxana Saberi peels back the curtain to give an inside look.

I'm in my own one-person exclusive private club AT HOME. I love being alone (always lots to do, or can indulge on me-time). Although I get along well with community members, I prefer to be alone and spend my money on pampering myself every day. These people in these clubs often are sitting on their own in front of their computer 6:04 and I can do that at home and blow the monthly cost getting luxuries for myself. I don't need superficial, bragging, or self-centered people around me to make me happy.

so it’s basically a country club without a golf course. And by the way, I see nothing wrong with these, because you just go out in the general public and try to find people that you connect with or have similar interest it’s a mix bad and a crapshoot. Adults already have problems making friends so I’m all for it but yeah it’s definitely just the country club in the city

The idea that people are attacking exclusivity is so strange. What's wrong with having a club for the rich and famous? Does the rich and famous not allowed to hang out with their own kind? Isn't capitalism the reason why culture, technology etc etc have progressed? Since when do we have to accept everyone? It is not normal for one person to be able to get along with everyone.
