Was any of The secret service a former Marine? Cause our leadership requires supervision of all. “Ensure task is understood, supervised and accomplished.” You may delegate authority, you can put someone in charge, but when something goes wrong and you are the boss, there is no one else to blame but you. This goes for all the supervisors who failed to ensure that building was covered and policies in place to ensure it was covered and secured. Anyways, lessons learned! However, the best way to prevent this is to keep assault weapons away from the streets. The AR-15 is a combat weapon and not a civilian type of weapon. I served in Marine Corps for over 26 years. The fact that all that fire power was in area and still none was able to stop him prior to shooting 8 rounds, it only tells you having the 2nd amendment rights to “defend” yourself with a AR-15 is dumb. Out of all this pro gun people in there, there was not even one person with a concealed weapon, willing and able to shoot the shooter. Why? Again, no AR-15, no dangers. If you keep telling people is okay to have assault weapons, we will continue to have the same results. If you don’t believe me, then tell me what was the last time you saw a law abiding citizen respond by shooting an active shooter with an AR-15? Never! Only the law enforcement officers try at shows up will do that. So it’s obsolete to have rights to have a weapon you can’t use as an ordinary citizen. Because it’s unlikely you will be walking g around d with an AR-15 line in a combat zone.
