In 2020, President Biden secured the state with 61% of the vote, a margin that eroded in 2024 when Kamala Harris won by a narrower 56% to 44% against Trump. This trend underscores a growing discontent that could culminate in a shift of New York’s crucial electoral votes to the Republican Party in 2028. Unless Governor Hochul urgently calls for a referendum on this tax, she risks being remembered as the governor who handed New York to the Republicans, and with it, the presidency.

The New York State Incident Management Team has supported many local emergencies as well as those in other states including the aftermath of tornadoes in Kentucky in 2021 and Hurricane Harvey in Texas in 2019. Governor Hochul deployed 17 soldiers from the Army National Guard and three heavy lift helicopters to support the North Carolina National Guard and four 100 KW generators to Macon, Georgia to support recovery efforts. She sent a team of 16 swift water rescue personnel, two canines and emergency response equipment to North Carolina. Yes, she is so bad for Texas, I see now.

I have lived in New York for 20 years. Everyone I know - including myself -commutes around and into Manhattan via MTA, PATH, Metro North, NJ Transit, or LIRR. I do not know anyone who drives into or around the city to work. It’s a nightmare. To park in midtown Manhattan would be $25 - $75 per day. No one does this unless you are an executive earning a minimum of $850,000/year.

If you're a New Yorker I'd have no idea why you'd complain about having less cars on the road 24/7. If you live in NJ, you weren't even saving time or money in the first place! Seems like a higher burden on Richland New Yorkers West of the Hudson in Rockland. They already have to pay a bridge or tunnel toll. Or take New Jersey transit or a mix of all of the above.
