I feel bad for both Jackie and Marilyn. For the time period, Jackie was very strong and always acted with grace, tact and dignity. She was one of the brightest, most well educated and elegant first ladies we have ever had, and she deserved much better. Marilyn, meanwhile, never knew her father, had a mentally ill Mom who spent her life in an asylum, and as a result she was bounced around foster homes and was reportedly sexually abused in at least one of them. She was never really ok, and was always inappropriately seductive with men trying to get the attention she lacked as a kid, always trying to find someone to protect her. She was also crushed because she could never have a baby....if she did concieve, she always miscarried. Some people think she had endometriosis, but she tortured herself, thinking it was because she had slept with multiple men.

It's a condition related to the lining of the uterus, and can be very painful and result in difficulty with conception and pregnancy. But she would not have known that. Supposedly, she had guilt, believing that having had multiple partners (remember,she was first married before she even went into acting!) had somehow damaged her and caused get to become infertile. (That association of multiple partners and infertility was an old pre-antibiotics idea, because certain STDs like syphilis could cause infertility, even if a person never experienced serious symptoms. That's a problem we have largely forgotten about , but as STDs like syphilis become antibiotic resistant, I imagine we will have to worry about it again.)

What a load of old gossip. JFK was in constant pain and wore a back brace. He could barely walk on some days. All this about affairs is just gossip. JFK did have relationship with MM but it was friendship and companionship. Jackie also had lovers. JFK looks like he is in pain in many photographs and he had many operations on his back, which he kept quiet. JFK was sociable and loved all his sisters. Just because JFK hung out with women, don't mean to say he was having affairs with them.

The President had charisma, but in no way was handsome at any stage in life, not even when he was a young naval officer. His brother Teddy, on the other hand, was absolutely gorgeous when he was a young man. Even their father, Ambassador Joseph Kennedy, told Teddy that he was the best looking brother in the family.
