Stop the flag waving. Less than 10% of NYPD cops will see their lives put in danger while responding to a call. Something like 6% will discharge their weapon in the line of duty. Being an NYPD beat cop is not the military service people think it is. She worked in tech support for 12 years in the NYPD and was hired to modernize it. My guess is we're about to see a lot more drones and technology based protections and a reduction in how much power some idiot with a badge and gun that plays around on their phone all day. You forget the Bryant Park shooter ran RIGHT BY the cops who didnt see him because they were fcking around on their phones?

Instead of conducting a puff piece like this, invite Commissioner Tisch to a discussion with representatives from the New York Civil Liberties Union, the Coalition for the Homeless, advocates for prisoners' rights on Rikers Island, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, and so on. It's a bad look for a billionaire heiress to be leading a crusade against the underclass, the dispossessed, the unhoused, the voiceless, the powerless, the vulnerable, the discarded, and the forgotten members of society. Doncha think? 🕵
