Any Parent can suddenly die at home so if their kids aren’t living with her or even if they are living with her there’s no guarantee they’ll be there at the moment of death. With their money she no doubt had help so what do you mean by being by her side? I didn’t know it was expected a Mother’s kids should be expected to be at said Mother’s side 24-7. People still work whether a Mother is sick or not unless kids are are able to take care of the Parent.
