It so funny that Trinidad and Tobago started carnival and now all the others countries wanna claim carnival 🤣
@AliLynch-qr6ls Жыл бұрын
Carnival in my Caribbean island started when the slaves were free they stared playing drums and dancing in the streets, and it has been celebrated like this ever since, I don't know what they got to do with Trinidad carnival.
@Darrytheprince Жыл бұрын
I know u trolling but I'll play along. Trinidad got their carnival from the Grenadians that moved there when the Spanish let ppl in sir lol. Prior to that he only countries with carnival were the French Caribbean countries. Martinique to sent lici, all the way to Grenada.....but not Trinidad

@@Josh-xy3td this is clearly someone who never lived in Trinidad and clearly don't know his history. If you did you would never say such a thing 🤣

@@Darrytheprince bruh I am living in Trinidad and I know carnival originated when the french came to Trinidad and the slaves copied there festivals and when the british tried to ban it they revolted in Port of Spain San Fernando and Princess Town in the canboulay riots. Even our grandfathers talk about the whole caribbean coping us with stuff like the steelpan. We are even responsible for reggae and ska because when Trinidadian musicians went to Jamaica, the Jamaicans played the calypso beats that the Trinidadians backwards and boom Reggae was formed. Even the oldest of the old in our country talk about this

It is Labor Day, an AMERICAN holiday. Enough of the B.S. identity politics already. Note to hyphenated-Americans, try putting America first for once in life.
@kinkiesse7736 Жыл бұрын
It's New York. They have different ethnic festivals all summer long. Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Indian, Italian, Irish (St Patrick's day), Russian, etc... It's a very multicultural city
@BoogieFinger Жыл бұрын
@@kinkiesse7736 by multicultural you mean just crap on America and its holidays
@kinkiesse7736 Жыл бұрын
@@BoogieFinger Not crap at all. Some white folks celebrate St Patrick's day and they're still American. You also have some white folks celebrating Octoberfest (German Beer festival) and they're still American.. You got folks celebrating Thanksgiving (primarily foundational British folks). We also have European based holidays such as Christmas (with Santa Claus) or Halloween that some white folks celebrate and they're still American.. America is about diversity, even for white folks..
