Being on the ocean, L.A. has had decades to duplicate San Francisco's auxiliary salt water grid and hydrant system. S.F.'s high pressure system is fed by pumps located by the bay, and entirely separate from the domestic fresh water supply. They wouldn't run out of water until the ocean was pumped dry. To think, L.A.'s one party leadership could have built this system, but preparedness and public safety took a backseat to all their other programs and agendas. It's true what they say: "Sometimes you get what you voted for."

According to this official, a fire on this scale caused a ton of sprinkler systems to trigger and run wide open all at once. On top of that, you have hundreds of fire units all trying to draw water from the same limited grid system. Not true? Go tell the media and the officials explaining this.
