Let’s not give these sickos an out with the “ drug “ thing. Most addicts hurt only themselves. @vorpal1202 жыл бұрын
@@fallen4life080 I know innocent until proven guilty. I am talking about this guy had already committed a violent felony during a robbery in 2008. I don't think we have a charge for trauma or long term effects caused by being decked by an adult. My question is: at what point are we saying that this person needs treatment or does this person need to be removed from society? Is prison rehabilitation or is it a farce for slapping hands. Career Criminals rarely change since most simply continue to commit crimes. i.e. from experience, when some one is at the end of their rope they say "I can commit this crime get in prison for another 5 years and come out with some money." (you get a small amount of money when you exit prison.) I'm not saying this is what this guy was doing. I am say that this is a thought that crosses peoples minds and the prison isn't so much a punishment or a place to learn to be a better person but a respite in-between crimes and poverty where they get a free room and food. Career criminals don't care about prison. In what ever stupor this guy was in the thought of prison wasn't enough to dissuade from hitting two children. In my 20s I used to ride the bus to SF from norcal and it would stop and pick up inmates from San Quentin. On more than one occasion I talked with them and let them tell all about whatever they wanted to talk about. Some I would give smokes to, while others I would offer to split a cab fare to a destination. I learned some info about people, why they would do certain things, and what they wanted after "getting out."

@The Fire Within Me This criminal is a disgusting excuse for a human. I hope he does indeed complete his 9 year jail stint and nothing less, due to good behavior ( he's likely incapable of that) or anything else. He is an opportunist. I believe he was scouting them ( as an eagle-eyed predator would) out for a while in the store (and as children they were oblivious) and likely discerned after some time that they were indeed alone. No one else was in the aisle so he likely felt that was the perfect opportunity to strike and it was. He had impeccable timing. He is a dangerous man because of his anger, hatred, lack of impulse control etc.. He is also dangerous because of his opportunistic ways and his keen sense of perfect timing to commit crimes. As you have said it's true, mom could've possibly been assaulted too if she was there, but we don't know that. I feel differently though. I feel that they may not have been attacked if she was with them, but we don't know that either. If mom was there and also attacked, she would have been comfort for her children ( just seeing her) in the midst of that assault at that very moment. They would have had her to hold them and love them through the moment even IF she herself was injured. Her presence there was important, just in general for no other reason than she IS mom. Her being there to ensure both children were behaving properly in the store and to supervise especially her young child would have made a definite difference. Unsupervised young children are targets for abductions, theft accusations, teen rabblerousers, tired/ angry employees etc.. Also unchecked children are tempted and curious. Being alone they are more eager to run in the store, hide from each other, open items, be underfoot of tired/angry employees, take items etc... this is the general nature of Most children regardless of who they are, where they come from etc.. NO certain child, group or race IN PARTICULAR- just children. Left alone, its just too tempting not to get into something. Not specifically talking about the two children here at all ( they may have been very well-behaved children) or that they would do any of the sorts of things described above. Hats off to the responsible and quick-thinking big brother who immediately came to his baby brothers defense. As parents we must be careful- what our children can get into and worse, what can happen to them- (both instances) while out of our sight is too horrifying to think of. May we ALL watch our children just as carefully and closely as this predator did. I hope they make a complete recovery physically, emotionally , mentally and so forth. I hope also that dreadful Ptsd doesn't ever hinder their lives. Best to them.

@The Fire Within Me Lastly, with all the talk about human trafficking, what loving, responsible parent would allow their kids unattended in public places where strangers frequent? Fortunately for those kids they weren't enticed with candy laced with poisonous chemicals like a young female adult who excepted an opened alcoholic beverage from a complete stranger that had her hospitalized in a paraplegic state, which she eventually did make a full recovery. But, not everyone will live to tell their stories... With Cameras practically everywhere and Videos being the first thing people reach for when the unexpected occurs, so any sane person would have known they were being monitored, which was why I thought of him as being a drugged-out Psychotic! Also, Women/Girls (now-a-days) are taught self-defense tactics that can bring any man to his knees...

Sometimes food gets passed around the block before it gets to certain inmates (disgusting!) Is it morally right? No, but for those of you wishing for prison justice protective custody doesn't mean very much.
