1) Candidates thank you for your civility and individual vision, rather than platitudes. 2) CBS incorporating personal SF stories added to the discussion. Examiner Great choice of Moderators, who asked the questions we need answered, and keeping lively with nuanced inquiries and follow ups. 3) Thanks to all those who care enough to hear all views in order to fill out an informed rank choice. I beleive is better than wasteful run offs. 4) Judging from the location of viewership questions, SF & our media still need to reach out and engage voters from the Northeast & Southeast Side to air their voices.

Mark Ferrell's plan of market-rate "build baby build" has been tried and failed in Vancouver and NYC. It only made those cites more expensive. This city needs affordable housing for the poor and middle class. That is the only path to making housing more affordable.

not sure if it's true but cops are slow to show up to break ins and let criminals get away because it's way less work for them. business owners are no longer reporting crimes in fear of losing their insurance?

so much money towards housing non-paying, non-contributing citizens. Can the working class get a rent cut? low-income in sf a couple years ago was $108k, most office jobs are only paying people 70-80k. look at the job posts, it's insanity.

Abc news said sf police dept funding increased 4.4% from 2019-2022, so it was less than oakland and san jose, but still was an overall increase. Department struggling to meet demand as "police highly scrutinized", but as someone in public service, they should be accountable to the community instead of afraid of being scrutinized. Article Also says in 2021-2022, police budget was $28 billion more than 2018-2019. this year in august, BOS approved $50million increase for police. So i feel like its copaganda to blame crime and lawlessness on understaffing and the debate itself says that violent crime and property crime have decreased. So idk why funneling millions and billions of dollars for police would help the community, esp communities already brutalized, targeted and over policed. Its going to lead to increased rates of incarceration and surveillance technologies, and probably less accountability for the police as a whole. Also, mayor breeds recent increase in police funding means cuts to public health programs- so youre over policing people who will have less access to preventable health care. Barriers to essential services lead to risk of ppl committing crimes for money/otherwise, so just increasing police force without addresseing housing and healthcare is not the answer

I heard cops love the low staffing rates. They get lots of overtime pay and their retirement rates are based on top 3 paying years... not sure if it's true.

It's true, homelessness and addiction is a family issue and families should help those they. The rest, inpatient treatment, letting people wander, live on the streets while in crisis is cruel. It's a process to mental health, and sobriety, but it can be done and we have new graduates every year in the fields, ready to work. Let's go!

I wish public transportation was free to users. Please find a way to fund it. I'm lucky enough to live by a convenient bus stop. I actually pay the fare everytime, and take it to a lot of places in the city. I've greatly reduced my car usage. New bart fare gates cost thousands of dollars, so why not use all that $ instead to let people use public transportation for free while helping reduce carbon emissions & pollution, reduce traffic, reduce stress, etc.? Make people register for a free clipper type card using their IDs or other personal info in order to get free fares.

Dealing in dangerous drugs, like Fentanyl shows a blatant disregard for the well being of others, it's very serious, yes mental health, but also criminal. Why would someone choose to deal this drug, or any street drug unless they meant harm? Better education is vital. We watched drug scare films in school, they had a strong effect on me.
