Risacher has quickly become the most overrated player in this draft. The dude is a 3&D wing who can't create and is an average athlete by NBA standards.. He projects as a career role player and he's being projected as the #1overall pick . Wild. 3&D wings are the easiest archetype to find these days in the NBA too. I hope he goes top-3 so it pushes a better player down to the Spurs. 💯

Banchero is a 6’10 250 lb PF whose strength was scoring in different ways from the paint all the way out to the 3-point line. That’s not Risacher’s game at all. He’s a 6’8 195 lb lanky 3&D prospect, the easiest archetype to find in the NBA right now. He hovers around the 3-point line waiting for someone to kick the ball out it to him so he can shoot it. Outside of the occasionally straight-like drive (which will be much more difficult for in the NBA with better defenders), that’s pretty much his entire offensive game. I don’t think he’s gonna be trash or anything, I think he’ll become a solid role player eventually. But #1 overall?? That’s wild. Just shows you how weak this draft is.

It’s not the obvious pick. I’m even hearing they want to trade down to 4 and 8 get Clingan and Dillangham. And I know why they would but everyone obsessed with Sarr. They don’t want to fail with Sarr, Clingan higher floor and they get more capital ATL doesn’t even have a first round pick next year. Spurs get Risacher and Wizards get Castle Sarr going 3.

Sarr will get bullied if he starts at the 5 right away… he still has a lot of potential and should be a star and get some good frontcourt mins in his rookie year but I think he needs to add more muscle before starting at the five.

I really don't understand why we would skip Sarr at 1. We had about 3000 forwards right now and if you watched any Hawks basketball this season you would know that Clint Capela is not gonna cut it anymore at center. I don't think I've ever seen a center miss that many open layups and then get the rebound and miss again like wtf

Edey's post moves seem almost non-existent. He big, and that's pretty much it. If he could spend summer with Hakeem, he might turn into a good player. Honestly he should go to Europe first and play minutes, get some good coaching. He's going to be a ten minute a game type in the NBA otherwise.

@@VenGxJon Could be, but I think that Risacher is overrated. He is a somewhat good shooting 3&D wing at 6-9 with a 6-10 wingspan, but his D is not anything really special, same with rebounding and assist. His numbers reflect this. Even his shooting is not anything really special .470/.387/.707 outside the NBA...it is not lighting the world on fire. The NBA has plenty of these type players in my opinion. He is a prospect and anything could happen, but if he had shooting numbers like .520/.475/.820 and was getting 8+ REB, 4 AST & 2 STL then I would jump for joy...but instead he is getting per/36 - 6.2/1.4//1.3 with a .57 AST/TOV. If I was picking for the Spurs I would take Dillingham for his shooting and playmaking over Risacher. They need both for Whemy. You gotta think that the Spurs are in good hands with Pop at the helm. But then again, I was happy that the Rockets didn't end up with Chet or Whemy. LOL I have followed a lot (over 50) of NBA drafts and all pre-drafts have two things in common that fans fall for over and over...rumors or not facts and a good GM will explore everything, but only one thing is the reality on draft night. Plus predicting the daft is impossible and I won't bother with doing a mock unless the Rockets have a top pick. That is why I only did a Top 5 Mock. It has been fun for me these last 4 drafts...BTW, I am 100% on who the Rockets picked in the last 3 drafts. JG@2, Jabari@3 & Amen@4 (I almost went with Cam at #4, but put him at #5 because of Amen's playmaking...OMG I went crazy when he fell to #20), but each year I wasn't 100% in the rest of the Top 5...lol Good Luck for your team and I appreciate your respect.

For the Spurs, I like Stephon Castle at 4. But the pick of Rob Dillingham at 8 is unwarranted. A better pick at 8 would be Tidjane Salaun. We get a defensive-minded point guard and a forward.

Castle isn't a real PG though. He's a combo-guard and that's what he'll play in the NBA. Him proclaiming to only work out for teams who need a PG is nonsense. And Salaun is a huge project at 18 years old -- easily the most raw player projected to go in the lottery. He's 2 years away from being 2 years away imo. Wemby doesn't have that much time to waste. He also doesn't have a single discernible trait right now. He's not a good shooter, creator, passer, rebounder, defender, etc. His defense is actually a big question mark too. How does a 6'10 guy with a 7'2 wingspan only block 8 shots in 33 games..?? Against mostly below-the-rim players, no less. That's a big red flag in and of itself.

The spurs have no time to waste and grabbing stephon castle and rob dillingham would be the best option schematically. their team was the 3rd worst in 3 point shooting and had basically no way to generate good offense without wemby or vassel, and even then, they needed tre jones on the floor to be at their max potential. If the spurs want to get stephon castle, they would have to give up the chance to get any good wing like buzelis or holland, and the spurs don’t have the lenience to take a gamble on someone like tidjane salaun, and potentially have him, castle or both not work out in the long run. If they drafted castle and dillingham who both bring very defined and differing skillsets to the team, worst case scenario they get two or at least one very good piece off the bench, and in the best case scenario they get a starting PG and their sixth man of the future. Both are very versatile combo guards that could pan out at the 1 or 2, with castles upside being at the 3 and even the 4 if need be. Although rob has defensive liability, it is almost certain that his offensive skills will translate to the nba and have tremendous impact, and stephonns castles upside all resides in his shot creation and shooting, which spurs have amazing development for. I’d rather have a guaranteed shot at my point guard of the future than take a gamble on two very polarizing players and end up having to ship players due to fit or their development not panning out. Not to mention the spurs have 4 first round draft picks for a much more talented draft class in 2025, they should prioritize value in talent and not in positional fit.

@@bballer191 There is no really good point guard option in this draft. Dillingham is a small fry who plays no defense. Reed Sheppard is merely a shooter. Topic is the best overall pick, but he has bad knees. Stephon Castle could develop into a point guard. He is taller and he plays defense. As for Salaun, he is a less developed version of Risacher. Since Risacher will be taken at 1 or 2, Salaun is the best player. With Pop et al coaching, expect Salaun to develop quickly.
