All the other conferences would probably immediately file lawsuits and threaten to pull out of the system if they give the SEC 6 teams out of 12 in the playoffs. They are getting four like he said, no way a 11-1 Indiana or 11-1 Penn St loses out to some 9-3 SEC team.

As a Texas fan, yeah… they’re out if they lose. Texas is the only team that doesn’t have a win over one of the other playoff contenders. If they lose to A&M, they lost to the only two teams they played that ended the season in the top 25. That’s the difference.

It isn't about wins and losses as much as hype and reputation. It is time that we move on from this antiquated thinking and create... - Create 4 Super Conferences (Atlantic Coast Conference, Big 16 Conference, Pac-West Conference, and Southeastern Conference) of 14 teams each with two divisions of 7 teams (I originally wanted 16 team conference/8 team divisions, but we don't need that many "SUPER" teams). - Conference and divisions would be aligned geographically. - Start season with 3 "Pre-season" games vs ONLY power conference teams. No more "Cup Cake Games"! And the pre-season games would not be a calculated factor for playoff entry. - Conference Champion and runner-up both make the 8-team playoff. Conf. Champion gets home field in First round. Runner ups play on the road vs other Conf. Champion. ***There would be no need at all for Rankings or Committees except for continuing arguments. Which all these analysts seem to enjoy. ****The playoff teams and eventual Champion are determined on the field.

Well thought out, major flaw though: the men who run FBS won't reduce playoff teams, they'll expand. Since the NFL is my #1, i think they should use the NFL playoff model. As far as FBS League, i think 2 conferences, 4 divisions per conference, 4-8 teams per division. Teams left out of the playoff league will participate in a League where end goal is not a national champion, but a rose bowl champ, or an orange bowl champ etc. FBS commissioners would be wise to structure their League similar to the league that makes more revenue than any other league in the world

@@JoRa-rb9kz I appreciate your feedback. The goal of my plan was to get rid of the need for rankings and playoff committees. As for who gets into the playoffs, that would be determined on the field. Also, need to answer the balanced scheduling issue is by making sure everyone plays the same amount of "Pre-Season" Non-Conference games during the first three games of the season; A team will play all the other teams in their division; A team will also play four Inter-Division games. If we could pull that off with your format that would work for me. The other thing to keep in mind is don't have teams playing more than 17 games total in a season. That fits within my structure. It is an 8-team playoff. But it is also impossible to ever argue who gets to go to the playoffs.

@@tucanoguy4719 Easy. Some form of lottery or ping pong ball system that determines which seed the Conference Title Game losing teams are (Between 1-4). And then do the same for the Conference Championship teams are (Between 1-4). So, 1 plays 1, 2 plays 2, etc... The first round of the four playoff games is played at the Conf Champions home fields. The semi-finals Bowl and the Championship Bowl sites would be determined by rotating each year (As is done now). It's an idea I believe would work and be very entertaining.

The problem is, whoever loses the SEC Championship game could be out of the playoffs if they have 3 losses. If Texas loses to TAM, that’s 2 losses, then loses to Bama in the SECCG, that’s 3 and they’re out. If Bama loses to Texas, that’s 3 and they’re out.

I get quality wins, but a 10-2 texas would have lost with 2 playoffs team while a 10-2 Ole miss with Kentucky and LSU which both sucks. I don't know if beating a good team is better than losing to an horrible one. When texas plays 2 toss up and lose 2 of them is not good but Ole miss losing 2 games in which it is a massive favourite could be even worse.
