I’ve been a big fan since the early 70s in high school in NJ. His sense of humor was so up my alley! He’s been such a big part of my life. And then in 2005 I was in a car crash, suffered a TBI and basically had to learn how to talk again. I’d been an Instructional Designer for Fidelity Investments, a very “cognitively sophisticated” career, which ended. I’ve served on the Board of the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts since 2009, and so some good has come of it. The Toggle character has meant a lot to me. Thank you for this interview, Jane. Reading old and new Doonesbury is a continuing part of my recovery, and I’m grateful to Garry Trudeau.

Do ones bury (ok, I just had to leave that auto-check)... Doonesbury (with a close nod to bloom county and far side) is the only “comic” I’ve ever perpetually and religiously read. I can only rue that Gary is only publishing new strips on Sundays during this tragicomic administration... And a surprisingly, no enjoyable, interview between clearly loving spouses.

@@DCGuy1997 No, these syndicated comics drag on for decades with an ever-dwindling fan base. Doonesbury is funny the same way the comedian Amy Schumer is "funny." The lame punchlines are always dry brittle attempts at snark, which desperately try to be avant-garde but go nowhere... reflecting nothing except Trudeau's autism... they get old.

This was a repeat of a segment that has aired previously. CBS Sunday Morning seems to do this a lot. Can't they come up with better stuff than re-runs and promoting CBS programming and talking about CBS alumni and memories of old CBS Sunday Morning Shows? Gary T. seems like a nice guy but I have never understood what the big deal was with Doonesbury. The cartoon just seemed to be a Conservative-bash-fest. And Jane Pauley has just gotten lazy...interviewing your husband? Really? She just seems to be coasting to retirement. I have never understood how Jane Pauley is held out as some big "talent". Seems like a nice lady but if she never did another TV job, would anyone notice?

You are an imbecile. Her work on the Today show was remarkable. Her work at CBS, the first woman to host CBS Sunday Morning ever - revolutionary. Actually watch the program on TV. It is wonderful. Lazy people watch clips on KZbin & gripe about things. Get a life

@@jkbjkb8899 I have been watching CBS Sunday Morning "on TV" since it first aired in 1979...and there is nothing "remarkable" or "revolutionary" about Jane Pauley.
