Hi I have read some self help books 6 years ago and since then I was confused about psychology, philosophy ,topics related to thought process ,cognition . Many questions kept coming in mind and solving one problem leads to new questions which when ignored leads to prolonged anxiety and this things continued for 2 years. Somehow I managed to get some clarity about them and have made my own answers about them .This had helped me a lot but now I have forgotten many of the answers . Learning about psychology sometimes increases my doubts and sometimes decreases them . I m confused what to do plz help.

Aoa Sir ! I have been dealing with pure ocd for 6 years . When I first started having these thoughts they were very scary , and for 1 year they were getting worse but I used different reassurance methods to calm myself down. By that time I had lost control of my thoughts and I couldn't think what I wanted to think and I thought I was normal now but gradually they took every aspect for my life . I reassured myself by different ways throughout these 6 years and didn't realize that I wasn't normal and was doing this as a part of compulsive act . Now after almost losing every thing in my life , I have realized that my condition has gone way worse and that I wasn't normal throughout this time despite me telling myself . Now I just sit in my sofa, can't do anything , can't complete one single task and have become totally functionless and just like a breathing lifeless individual .

Managing OCD with CBT OCD k 2 types hai 1. हर disturbing thought के नतीजे में compulsion होती है 2. या हम कोई ritual इस्तेमाल करते हैं या बना लेते हैं ,जिससे हमारी anxiety temporarily कम हो जाती है Pure O , obsessions, or obsessive rumination कहते हैं- यह वाह किसमें है जिसमें आपको तरह-तरह की सोचे आती हैं, यह सोचे अक्सर किसी को नुकसान पहुंचाने के बारे में होती हैं, -मसलन यह छुरी पड़ी हुई है, इससे मैं अपने बच्ची की कत्ल ना कर दूं, अपने सौर पर हमला न कर दूं, किसी का गला ना घोट दूं Ye suicidal, sexual nature ki b ho sakti hai जैसी भी हो आपकी ख्वाहिश होती है किसी तरह यह सोचे रुक जाए, लेकिन जितनी ज्यादा आप कोशिश करते हैं उतनी मुश्किल होती जाती है, तो इसी को आप pure O or obsession कहते हैं इसको manage करना कैसे हैं? Tips- S1-Normalize यह सोचे हर इंसान को आती हैं लेकिन अगर आप OCD se suffer कर रहे हैं, यह आपके लिए परेशानी का बयास है, तो इसका मतलब यह है कि आप यह समझते हैं कि, यह सोचे सिर्फ आप ही को आ रही हैं तो यह समझना जरूरी है कि -"यह सोचें सिर्फ आप को नहीं आ रही है, हर एक को आ रही हैं, लेकिन आप इन पर reaction ज्यादा देते हैं, और इन पर ज्यादा तवज्जो( ध्यान) देते हैं, और इनको ज्यादा seriously लेते हैं, इनको ज्यादा खौफनाक समझते हैं S2-Acceptance(accept you can't control them इन सोचो को आने से आप बिल्कुल नहीं रोक सकते हैं, जब तक आप accept नहीं करेंगे यह problem रहेगी _logic- आपके दिमाग में 70 बिलियन(अरब) से ज्यादा न्यूरॉन्स है यानी nurve cell जो हमारी सोचो को process karne me, perception ko , हमारे देखने को, हमारे सुघने को ,हमारे चखने को, हमारे महसूस करने को, हमारे सोचने के अमल को जो nurses cell process करने को की तादाद 70 बिलियन(arab ), और उनके जो आपस में कनेक्शन हैं एक न्यूरॉन के average में दूसरे न्यूरॉन के साथ कनेक्शन जो है 10,000 हैं onaverage अगर 70 बिलियंस न्यूरॉन है, और 1 न्यूरॉन जो है, तकरीबन 10000 डिफरेंट कनेक्शन में है फर्ज करें _"एक सोच जो है एक या दो कनेक्शन पर बेस है to 10000 trillion( 10,000 kharab) से भी ज्यादा है" तो ए जो सारे न्यूरॉन है मिलकर जब फायर करते हैं तो बहुत सारे random thoughts creat होती हैं - आप जा रहे हैं सड़क पर कहीं एक लाल रंग का कपड़ा लटका हुआ है- आप सोचते हैं लाल रंग का कपड़ा लटका हुआ है और यह किसने लटक का दिया यह कपड़ा आप कितनी देर इसके बारे में सोच सकते हैं? चांसेस हैं थोड़ी देर सोचेंगे लेकिन jo obsessive thought hai, vo ish nature ki nahi hoti,vo ek random thouht hai(uska content disturbing hota hai कई दफा external estimulus भी नहीं चाहिए होता है वह खुद-ब-खुद खयाल जो है जहन में आ सकता है S3-u r not your thoughts ( आपको खुद में और अपनी सोच में फर्क करना है अपने आपको कहना है-"I m not my thoughts" S4--Stop evaluating your thought हम constently लोगों को ,चीजों को और अपनी सोचो को, evaluate( अंदाजा लगाना) aur access कर रहे होते हैं , तो ए accesment ( आंकलन/ राय) रोकने दो की हर चीज अच्छी है या बुरी है black hai white hai Toh isme bahut sari black and white thinking involve hoti hai ,all or non thinking involve hoti hai इसको check करें कि क्या मैं अपनी सोच को access ( आंकलन/ राय)कर रहा हूं _सोच आई हैं इस तरह से सोचे- एक सड़क है उस पर ट्रैफिक जा रही है, तो दिमाग आपका सड़क की तरह है, ट्रैफिक जो है उन सोचो की तरह है, _'अगर आप बीच में बैरियर लगा देंगे तो ट्रैफिक जाम हो जाएगा' _तो अपनी सोचो पर नाका लगाने के बजाय 'जैसे वह आ रही हैं उन्हें जाने भी दे' S5-Practice mindfulness Meditation develop kare Meditation ki habit develope karne se kya hota hai? Meditation me generally आप अपनी सांस पर concentrate करते हैं और उसके अलावा just being ko enjoy/experience karte hai, sensation ko experience karte hai as normal ,as natural aur unhe access nahi karte,unhe evaluate nahi karte और जो सोचे आपको आ रहे हैं उनको आने देते हैं और जाने देते हैं जैसे जैसे आप यह प्रैक्टिस डिवेलप करते हैं उसी तरह आप देखेंगे कि आपki obsessive thought jo hai ,unme vo punch nahi rahega vo power nahi rahega Obsessive thought ko fight करने का आमतौर हमारा तरीका होता है किसी तरह उससे अपनी जान छुड़ाएं तो उसमें मिसाल यह देते हैं कि आपके पास एक छोटा सा शेर का बच्चा आया आप उसको गोश्त दे देते हैं, उस वक्त वह खुश हो कर चला जाता है, लेकिन जब वह अगली दफा आता है तो और बड़ा होता है until कि आपके पास उतना गोश्त नहीं होता है तो आप को खा जाता है Just remember that is the nature of obsessive thouht and how we deal with it S6-Distract in the short term किसी भी activity से -music listening se,koi action kar rahe hai kosis kare ki aap usme apne aap ko involve kar le Lekin medium aur long term me apko apne reaction jo hai uspe process karna hoga,yahi apne aap ko kah ke S7-Use sticky notes as remembers _"I m not my thoughts". तो ए स्टिकी नोट्स आप लिखकर लगा लेंगे तो आपको मसल्सर याद दिलाता रहेगा इस बात की 'आपमे और थॉट्स में फर्क है 'आप अपने thoughts के लिए ना तो responsible हैं और ना ही उनसे identify कर रहे हैं S8-use art therapy technique आपकी सोच जैसी भी है उसका एक कार्टून सा बना ले, यानी उसका मजाक उड़ाए in the form of cartoon आप stick figure bhi बना सकते हैं लेकिन उन कार्टूंस के जरिए कोशिश करें उस थॉट से भागने के बजाय उसको एक्सप्रेस भी कर दें और उसके एक कॉमिकल हैप्पी एंडिंग भी कर दें

Hi , people of your fraternity ( therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist) have sound knowledge of behaviour and mind . How this makes you people different from other middle class but normal people in terms of quality of life , handling difficult situation . If answer is yes then why people from your fraternity face very much same amount of problems in life such as depression, suicidal tendencies, relationship problems as much as other normal people . Thoughts are always "real". But obsessive thoughts should be stopped. If you can ignore them, you have already succeeded.
