I feel pretty confident i could pass the mod1 now without any further training just due to doing drills on my own rides

I have my CBT booked for the 10.02.24 and I have been really concerned about the slow control movements, I’ll be in a manual 125cc as I have bought a MT125 22 plate. I understand this was to get these lads ready for the DAC, however this really has given me an insight into some of the expectations required for the CBT, and has calmed my nerves, I think I’ll be fine out on the road having been driving on the roads for 13 years. Thanks a lot and keep up the content!

I want to do the direct access and hope to someday get back on a bike it was very very liberating to habe that option as a young adult. I have a car now mind but i miss the bike. Edit: i wasnt ever told about looking up and keeping eyes up. I learnt that after i passed, needed the extra vision on whats happening vans and lorrys etx harder to see us.

Your students look like they knew what they were doing. Your instruction is excellent. I'd consider a DAS with your self - but I already have a license. Question (might seem ambivalent) difficult to ask, with the way PC works nowadays, how many riders (or wannabe riders) are just not cut out for riding? (... either you got it or you don't....) Have you ever shook your head?
@MotorcyclePWR
@MotorcyclePWR 11 ай бұрын
Thanks for your kind comments, much appreciated. I can say that in 14 years of training I can only think of 4 people who couldn’t successfully ride a motorcycle; all for various reasons. Sometimes I do shake my head but I find most mistakes are good learning opportunities. It’s usually fun. The joy of training motorcyclists is that largely they are enthusiastic about biking and want to learn. I count myself fortunate to have trained some great students over the years. All the best.

Great video, thanks for sharing! Coupe of questions - what bike(s) are the attendees using? And Broadly speaking, is krna good idea to go straight from CBT to DAS? I passed my CBT recently and have been told to go straight into a DAS course to avoid picking up bad habits. Trying to figure out the cost/benefit of practicing in my own time (and cost) for a while before applying for a DAS course or going for a DAS sooner. For background I have driven a car for 15 years too

Thanks for your question. Its a while ago now but probably because he was at a different stage of experience and was going to demonstrate and practice skills on the smaller bike before moving onto the bigger one. Its quite usual when someone is inexperienced and an instructor hasn't seen them ride before just to check out skill levels, especially clutch control. Often a student may request the start on the smaller bike to gain confidence. All the best

I have a question, when I did my cbt I did it on an automatic moped if I was to do one of these direct access course could they show me how to use a manual bike or would I have to learn it via other means?
@MotorcyclePWR
@MotorcyclePWR 3 ай бұрын
Hi, it is likely that learning gears on your direct access is not a good idea. A good school should be able to teach you gears as separate lessons and depending on your competency then put you on a course or suggest some time riding on your cbt on a manual bike. Good luck with it. 👍

I’m looking to do my Direct Access Scheme due to being 25 but I am a complete novice with bikes (I would just stick with a 125cc but I need a higher engine for long distance work commitments), would this be possible or am I dreaming a silly dream?

If a rider has a MC license from another country where would they start the direct access.
@MotorcyclePWR
@MotorcyclePWR Жыл бұрын
It depends which country issued the licence and whether the uk has an exchange agreement with that country. You can use the tool on gov.uk to see if you qualify for exchange. If you dont then the process would be to apply for a UK provisional licence then complete cbt and pass theory and module 1&2 motorcycle tests.

Hey there. i am 19 years old and looking to get into riding. From my understanding, i would need to complete a CBT and the theory test, and then would it be possible to do a Direct Access Course to an A2 licence? Or would it have to be the standard of applying for A1 and hold for 2 years before A2? I appreciate the age of this video but I’m overwhelmed and a response would be great. Cheers!
@MotorcyclePWR
@MotorcyclePWR 8 ай бұрын
Hi thanks for your question. Don’t worry about the ages of videos, I try to keep them all relevant to whenever they are viewed. Ok, so licensing can seem confusing. Yes you need to start with CBT. A1 is the only full license available to 17-18 year olds. At 19-23 you can do your A2 license. Direct access A license is 24+. Progressive full license is available after 2 years full A2. As you say, a theory test pass is required before you can do an A2 license. I hope this helps, all the best

Thanks for the response, so i’d need to go the entire route being CBT, theory, A1 mods and hold that for 2 yrs before applying to A2 mods and getting a max 47 bhp bike?
