Good to hear you liked your time in Bonn. I grew up rhere and have only good menories. Cute little town that was Germany‘s capital för 40 years. Your German pronunciation is very good especially the „ch“ sound. That‘s where most english speakers struggle. Congratulations!

Drachenfels has the nick of being the highest mountain of Holland because it’s usually crowded by Dutch tourists… I am a Bonner and studied in Bonn way back decades ago… yep Brezeln are best where they origin from…

I was born and raised in Bonn. At least in my day, people liked to take a trip to the Drachenfels and it wasn't flooded with Dutch people.

I absolutly agree with the fact, that the Brezeln are tasting different in Bayern, than in other parts of Germany. Its like to compare Bier from Bayern with Bier from the USA

Haha - gotcha! In your opinion, which is better... north or south???

As far as I know, pretzels in the south are usually bigger and more fluffy in the inside, while in the north usally thinner and more crunchy. The taste shouldn't differ much (depending on the amount of salt used for topping), since the ingredients are basically the same, but it may 'feel' different. Of course there is a lot of range between 'big' and 'thin' and every bakery has their own way of producing, based on how the locals like it the most. :D

I used to live and work for nine months in Bavaria, and I couldn´t agree that Brezeln taste different, because they´re Bavarian made. I believe it´s more depending on how they´re made. For me it´s either city, Köln, or Bonn. I could live in both of them. The advantage of Bonn is, it´s not that big, almost everything within a walking distance. My nice has been born there. Due to this, and my sister living in a neighbouring town, I had been many times to Bonn. I have to admit, although my sister lives at the bottom of the Drachenfels, I had never taken the chance to visit it.

Hey Austin, I really feel sorry for you hearing about your encounter with that program director...! I'm aware that we Germans can appear harsh and grumpy from time to time (or most of the time😅), but that kind of a behavior is awful and totally inappropriate even in Germany (especially at some language school that should take interest in maintaining good public relations!)
