As someone who also "changes" personalities when i am around different people its not really about wanting to be liked or wanting to fit in. Its more about just mirroring their behavior and being multi-faceted. Mirroring is also known as a psychological way to help people feel more comfortable around you. Some people just have it naturally. I feel like its just a genuine way of showing someone you appreciate their presence.

I like Mitchell more than Cam. Admittedly, Cam is so much more spontaneous than Mitch which is for the entertainment purpose of the show, but throughout the show Cam had moments and did things that were unfair to Mitch and proved how he was lucky to love and be loved by Mitchell. Not that Mitch is perfect of course, he had his moments and was unfair at times to Cam too but he made more effort to apologise and make up for it than Cam did for him imo.
