Fantastic bikes. Poor reliability is a load of cobblers and members of the facebook group love their Spitfires. The only issue is that many owners realise they've got an awful lot of money tied up in a machine which won't do everything. Hence a lot of them get sold, with low mileage. CCM should make some side bags and a slightly larger fuel tank. Just to give them a smidge more practicality. 👍

Darcy, mate, your height is irrelevant. What matters on a bike is your leg length! Humans do not have leg lengths in regular proportion to their height - some have long bodies and short legs, and vice versa. I like the lightness of these bikes but they are expensive for a single. I don't like that keyless ignition, and I wonder how that nylon tank will deal with the higher ethanol fuels that are undoubtedly coming along? I'm not a Bobber fan either, with that seat hanging off the back as if you are on some farm implement like a plough, rather than a bike. Both mudguards are far too short; the front one will allow the engine and rad to get covered in shyte, the back one will give you a black line up your back like a skunk, from mucky water thrown off the tyre, and its shortness also necessitates that ugly bracket to mount the number plate. I'm prepared to believe it looks better in the flesh than on video, but..... Not for me I'm afraid. Not a bike I could live with.

I think it is relevant what your height is as I as yet have not seen a tall person with short legs.

We give our height so people can gauge what we look like on the motorcycle. So, I'm 4 days from getting back on a 8k mile trip on one (2020 Spit Six). (UK to Nordkapp and back.) I would wager my bike is the CCM which has gone the furthest from home, with many countires in europe now ticked off (By its own steam), and clocked the most miles on it. On and off road. (Including a bunch of the TET) For me personally, I'll never sell the bike, I took it from the factory (I picked it up from their place) with a bunch of my customisiations, and realised I needed to make many more to make it mine, and make it do what I wanted to do. I've custom made luggage systems, redone many electrics on it, and reworked a bunch to make it more hardy. I would not recommend the bike to anyone who wants to put it in a display case, or to someone without the willpower to play with it and repair a few things. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants to mess around with it and make it theirs. I've made mine into a tourer. Is it the most effective tourer? Hell no. Is it a very unique tourer that can smash back road and gravel? Yes. Do I love riding every minute of it? Yes. Have I ran out of fuel on it? A few times and now always carry a fuel bag with me on long trips. Is there anywhere I wouldn't ride it? With the exception of motorways no, the engine, suspension and drivetrain eat up everything. It is an odd bike, and I won't claim it is the best looking, some hate it and some love it. The only thing that matters is I love it.
