I owned a 701 Husky prior to buying a Spitfire flat tracker. Was expecting them to feel similar but it's actually night and day different. The 701 is a revvy beast that pulls stonking wheelies towards the top of the rev range in the lower gears. The Spitfire is more of a low down, torquey chugger. Much more characterful and endearing for it though. I guess it depends what attributes you're looking for in a bike really as to which one to chose. The plus point for the Spitfire is they make a beautiful conservatory ornament in the winter and they're nice and light to lift over the threshold 😅

Interesting comparison and thanks for sharing - I've not ridden a 701 (or indeed any Husqvarna) yet but it sounds a riot from your description. And I can think of worse winter conservatory ornaments than that! Cheers!

Nice review, I have the original Street Moto - in yellow, and loving it. Describing the ride as 'intense' is spot on. It's certainly one of those 'you just won't get it if I need to explain' bikes 😏

That was that same bike as I tested and I came to the same conclusion, the bike without doubt does not need a second brake on the front as the single disc is more than adequate. I wanted a bike that was the total opposite of my Tech rich Moto-Guzzi V100S and this is it. Clearly this is a Marmite bike and not for everyone but if you want a raw and unfiltered ride this is for you. I have ordered the Street Moto S for delivery in March ( I could have had one sooner but delayed for personal reasons ). I also rode the standard street Moto, not hugely different but I felt the better suspension gave me slightly more confidence when the bike was thrown into the corners.

One of the very few new bikes available which is still allowed to stick two fingers up to European regs. And boy does it show! 👍 Dullards and haters need not apply...

It's heading back over from Glossop, quick squirt of Woodhead and then up and over Holme Moss. 🤟

Fantastic real world review, looks as you say more accessible for the masses price wise. Do they do any other colour than yellow? Dave
@midlifecrisismotorcyclistАй бұрын
Thanks and they do! The Signal Yellow of the bike in the vid or "Liquid Mercury" for the R and a choice of Factory Blue, Midnight Black or Heritage White for the regular Street Moto. See www.ccm-motorcycles.com/motorcycles/street-moto/ for all the details. /Dan

It's the same price as the new Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark and the Moto R at £11,450 is more expensive than the Full Throttle variant...pass.

@@specialcircs Fair point - you’ll be able to compare and contrast as the next vid on the channel will be on the Scrambler Icon so see what you think after that! 👍
