(2:50 ) actually, its the same, ( code is code ). nothing changes in the code ecosystem, because you still have the While Loops, For Loops, Boleans, Else, ElseIf etc etc etc. So if a person coded for an app on a phone, they can also code for networking so long as they learn the basic fundamentals of CCNA in its entirety. And know about Ip addressing for IPv4 & v6. they will be all set. and most people who code knows a lot about APIs because its part of the coding ecosystem. just FYI :)

Besides adding programming to some certifications, is this really just a new business model for Cisco training. Will certified training partners still exist, or will this be a proprietary training track like EC Council, ISC2, and others - greater expense for the student? When does this become official - new exams required, how much time is left to get a CCNA before those existing exams expire? It was interesting fodder, but not much more. I wonder what route Juniper is considering?
@patoco8175 жыл бұрын
I think the real question we want to know the answer to, is will there be training material??? Unlike the Cisco Service provider Cert. Which never really received or release readily available training for the certification.

I'm in the same boat, I'm going to continue my ccna security just for knowledge and then research the devnet certification
@TheDave0005 жыл бұрын
In the industry, no one cares if you have more than one CCNA. A CCNA just shows you are able to learn enough to be employable at an entry level job. There's no point in getting more than one for employment, you'll learn more on the job than wasting time with more qualifications. CCNP could open the doors to better jobs, but only with a few years experience in the industry as well.
@symeoncarter81445 жыл бұрын
@@TheDave000 true , experience is king , but I love to learn and have a Goal so studying for certifications is the way I do it
@davidbombal5 жыл бұрын
Mostly for knowledge I think. You do get some recognition of your cert, but mostly it will help you prepare for CCNP security with prerequisite knowledge.
@pooter4e5525 жыл бұрын
Here's the main problem with this scenario. It's good to pursue more knowledge in the APIs, SDKs and Sandbox market. However, you'll need a job in order to access real world equipment if and only if the company is going that route. 85% of IT professionals won't have access to these offerings and/or the company won't hire them based on experience. So my question. How do we study and get access to such equipment, without finding another job? Hmmm! that's the easter egg, because getting the DevNet and badge won't cut it. I've been a Voice/Network Engineer for 10yrs companies like experience.
@davidbombal5 жыл бұрын
Lots of options today including free DevNet Sandboxes at developer.cisco.com and labs available at Cisco dcloud. You could also use VIRL, GNS3 and EVE-NG to study.

I'm thinking good and bad about this. Good-Everyone say follow the trace you love, but this is a great way to find that because will have a little of everything. Bad - I have CCNA R&S, Voice (back then) and security. Working on Cyber now but just to update certs. I feel like these are a waste. I know nothing is wasted, but they are null and void. I should take cyber test 1 next week. Then Might as well jump to AWS till these come out the do NP Security. I been hearing These all downgraded. CCENT is CCNA, CCNA is now NP and IE is IE or am I wrong.

From the Frecuently Asked Questions on www.cisco.com/c/dam/en_us/training-events/training-certification-faqs.pdf Q: What will happen to my existing certification when the new program goes into effect February 24, 2020? A: • For CCNA, Specialist and CCNP: Your current certification is still valid and will be active until its expiration date. When the new program goes into effect February 24, 2020, your current certification will be transitioned to an equivalent in the new program. • For CCIE: If you are an active CCIE, your suspended year will be converted to an active year. For example, if your active CCIE would have been suspended beginning April 21, 2020, you will sustain active status until April 21, 2021.

I can also see when she says - high corporate people want their CCIE people to learn software development. -- But I can see something a mile away. Now company managers and ceo's are going to due away with actual coders now, or lower their earnings dramatically, because now they can say, We have developers who are also network engineers. (see where this is headed?) this is what bosses, managers and ceo's of companies are going to do. watch... And many actual coders are going to be out on their ass because now companies can just pay for one guy to do two tasks.
