Hello. 56-year-old Army here. My daughter got me into them 5 years ago. I've been to 3 concerts and trust me when I say there is nothing like them in this world. The music is top tier, their performances are mind-boggling, their charisma is off the charts, the message in their music are sincere and thought-provoking, and their kindness as individuals is heartwarming. Butter is one of the 3 English language songs they released as part of their way to comfort the world during Covid. Most of their music is in Korean and very much worth listening to Have fun and welcome.

K-pop is far more than a genre, it is an industry. It's a blend of music, fashion, cinema, tv, etc... A lot of people may not have realized it, but "Gangnam Style" by PSY was probably their first intro to K-pop 10 years ago. -BTS is Bangtan Sonyeondan which in Hangul (Korean alphabet) is 방탄소년단 In English, it translates to Bulletproof Boyscouts. (There's a deep meaning behind their name) -The group consist of 4 vocalist and 3 rappers. The ages range from 25 to 29. -There isn't a lead because they all end up in front. But there is a leader and each member has different titles within the group (i.e., lead dancer, main dancer, lead rapper, etc...) -They sing in Korean, Japanese, and English. They even have a little Spanish thrown in on a few songs. -They write, produce and compose their music. They even have input into their music videos. The youngest member even directed one. -They have won HUNDREDS of awards. -They have broken countless records. I won't say too much more because there is sooooo much. I highly recommend reacting to the following songs/videos so you can see and hear how versatile they are... "ON" Kinetic Manifesto Film "Black Swan" "Film Out" (Japanese) "Dope" "Save Me" "Dynamite" (their 1st full English song) Btw, "Butter" is fully English and there isn't a Korean version. "This Is BTS: An Introduction To BTS" by the channel "xCeleste".....(This one gives a basic but important and foundational brief informational introduction to them as a group. Questions of what their name stands for, why they chose that name, why they are so popular, where they started from, their group dynamic, some of their accolades, their contribution to the community/society, their relationship with their fans, etc, are answered in this video. The video is 13 minutes long but it perfectly summarizes why they are so loved by many people globally and why they are more than a typical boyband) 2. "Guide To BTS :The Bangtan 7" by the channel "Taylor" (This one focuses on each individual member and gives an overview of what the add to the group, a little about their personalities and accolades) 3. "BTS Struggles & Hardships (2013-2021)" by "xCeleste" (This one is self-explanatory. It's a video that goes into the challenges they faced since their debut to 2021 as a group) 4. "BTS Contribution To Music" by "xCeleste" (Self-explanatory. A very interesting video to check out if you want to know how much they have contributed to the music industry) There are more amazing introduction videos, but these one are the best for those who know nothing about BTS, and are interested in them. I suggest you watch them in the order I have recommended. They fit perfectly that way.

Could I make a suggestion when you react to Idol? Can you pls watch dkdktv explanation video and xceleste’s explanation video afterwards (doesn’t need to be same video, however don’t worry most ARMY will watch long videos of BTS). DKDKTV explains the Korean references and wordplay in the music video and song. Xceleste explains some history of BTS and how it relates to the video. However do whatever you want. Thank you. I finally got around to checking out your early BTS videos. Your BTS debut song is BUTTER?! What a fun debut for you guys. My debut song was BOY WITH LUV. After I watched the MV I wanted to know their names...down the rabbit hole I went! I remember when BUTTER first debuted, I watched it with my jaw on the floor. Not sure what I was expecting but they blew those expectations out of the water. They always give you more than you expect. BTS have gone through A Lot of hate, racism, xenophobia, etc. people trying to push them back to this day. A number one rule, especially for ARMY, is to trust BTS before anyone else. BTS has always been honest and keep their promises… BTS are some of the chaotic, humble, hardworking, and sweetest people. BTS are like family to each other and love one another very much. BTS have been a group for over 9 years and have over 300 songs covering various genres and subject matter and only 3 of them are fully English (Dynamite, Butter, and Permission To Dance), they also have a few fully English collabs but those aren't with all 7 members. All their other songs are a mix of Korean/English and they have songs/albums in Japanese too. BTS are considered the biggest group in the world and have won over 700 awards. They are also the most viewed artist on youtube (26 billion views) and the most streamed group on Spotify (28 billion streams). Butter also has the record of being the most viewed video in 24 hours on youtube with 108.2 million views and was nominated for a Grammy (they were also nominated the year before for their song Dynamite). BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korean which translates to bulletproof boy scouts in English. While Butter is enjoyable it doesn't truly show what BTS is capable of a group. RM is the leader of BTS (pink hair in this music video). But think of it more like he's a team captain. Unlike like a lot of boy bands BTS complement each other very well and they all get their time to shine in the group. All 7 members have done solos on their own and on BTS albums. I heard the guy at the beginning say something about One Direction. And no hate towards One Direction but BTS and One Direction don't have a lot in common aside from being being male groups who sing and that's about it. I could go on and on about BTS accomplishments but I would be here all day. I would suggest if you really want to know more about BTS to watch an introduction guide to the members. Yes you can enjoy BTS music without knowing about the members but I think you can appreciate the music more when you know who they are are and their history. I think when we get older its good to find something new and strange that our brain dont turn to stone. I found these hard working, talent young men from Unisef 2018, when they spoke there first time. 54 y/o, wife and mother to 4 children. I discovered BTS after watching carpool karaoke at the beginning of pandemic in 2020. They helped me and my kids go through the devastating effect of the pandemic. (I’m a registered nurse and took care a lot of Covid patients). I recruited my children and now my oldest child is in Korea as an IS, English tutor and part time model. BTS not only helped us survived the pandemic but also brought us even closer. Commenting early: I’m 39 years old a mother of three and discovered BTS after clicking Butter, I’ve been hooked ever since not only are they top tier at what they do but they are great humans and spread a message of love and positivity and unity which is something the world needs I’ve been a music junkie and specifically boy band junkie since the late 80s and I will say that this band is like no other and are truly unique and I hope you will dive into more of their music now back to the reaction :)

Hi 50 y.o. ARMY from the States. Been listening to k pop off an on since 2012 really got into it with BTS in 2016...been hooked ever since. Their profilio might impress anyone...they have several number albums, the most number 1 albums by any Korean group with 6 albums, most numbers 1 with 6 in just over a year. No one has done that since the Beatles. They have done numerous different genre of music, but the one constent is there is always vocals, always rap, and always dancing. Don't get me wrong, they have had a few where there wasn't dancing, and fewer yet with no rapping, and the one that didn't have rap or at least that much are all their English songs. So "Dynamite," "Butter," "Premission To Dance," and they even have a song with Coldplay called "My Universe." As well as many other collabs. Most of their songs are in Korean (if you wish to see those, all their videos have subtitles in damn near every language.) And the few songs in English have garnered them Grammy noms two years in a row. As for concerts, most recently, April as a matter of fact. They had 4 show held at Alligent Stadium here in Las Vegas, that they sold out all 4 shows even before they went on sale to the general public...only those who are in the fan club got tickets. Keep in mind Alligent can hold up to 85000 at capacity. For concerts up to 70,000. So 4 shows at 70,000 in less than one day. And that is after they did the same thing in L.A. in November of last year for SoFi Stadium. You guys are going to get alot of info. Not to mention, u will get ppl being really nice about it, and some that won't be so nice, please keep in mind those that aren't that nice don't represent the whole of the fandom. I promise...but either way, I do hope you guys look into more of their music...please check out more of their Korean music...the lryics are amazing...

I think I have to say this. BTS has 6 No.1 singles on Billboard Hot100 and 6 No.1 albums on Billboard 200. surely this song Butter got No.1 on Billboard Hot100 7 weeks in a row and 10 weeks totally last year.

Omg you guys are in for SUCH an AMAZING experience going down the BTS rabbit hole! They have so many great music videos, but if you are musicians, I HIGHLY recommend watching their BTS 2021 Room Live Festa where they sing live for a medley of their songs from old to new. It'll give you a taste of their versatility in discography, as well as their vocal and rap talent. They don't showcase their crazy dancing in it, but if you watch their mvs and dance practice videos you'll see how insane they are in dancing too. They're amazing artists, producers, lyricists, performers etc. Can't wait to follow your journey! Will def subscribe after you guys watch a few more of their content!

I've subscribed you just now. I dont want to give any suggestions on what you need to react or how, because the bts' fandom called "army" guides you through out the journey of reacting to bts' videos and gives you an idea on bts' wide range of discography, their talents, etc., im just going to tell one thing, you'll not regret reacting to their music. its refreshing, gives people hope and makes them happy. gives people a reason to survive. and i'm one of them.

Another 56-yr old ARMY here! Welcome to BTS! These guys will change your life if you let them. They have an endless number of songs, and while a few are all English, many are a mix of English & Korean. Some are all Korean. Be sure to turn your captions on while watching the MV (music video). I’m sure many others have commented already, but there are 4 singers & 3 rappers. Their fan base is called ARMY. My daughter & I flew to LA last year to see them live and it was truly incredible. One of the best concerts I’ve seen. They can do it all ~ sing, dance, rap, endless talent… Some other videos you really need to see are Mic Drop, Dope, Dynamite, Permission To Dance, Blood Sweat & Tears, Anpanman, Idol, Black Swan, Boy with Luv (ft. ARMY has shared a lot info. Just a quick fun fact. This Butter MV broke several world records on it debut! Most view MV on KZbin in the first 24 hours (108.2 millions views). Most people watching the premiere of the MV at the same time (over 3.9 million they held the prior record at 3 million for their other English song Dynamite) Most global 24 hours streamed song (over 11 million) As of Sept 2022 they hold the record for the most streamed group in Spotify history at over 28.2 billion (over taking Coldplay’s back in April 2021). All these and many more records are noted by the Guinness world record.

These guys have broken and are still shattering so many different records, they are pure true talent.. Most ppl think boy band and teenagers/young ppl, yeah not so much with BTS..🦋💜 I'm what they call a multi Stan, I'm Army, Stay, and czennie, which is BTS, Stray Kids and NCT.

Yes, they surpass all genres and age groups. I'm in my mid-50's. All BTS fans are called ARMY by BTS themselves. They all have equal parts really. They all are superb dancers. There are 4 main line singers and 3 rappers. But they all sing and dance exceptionally well. They mostly sing in Korean. A few songs are in English and some in both languages throughout the song. React to Blood Sweat and Tears, Black Swan, Mic Drop, On and Dynamite. You'll be happy you learned about this brand of K-Pop and learn that BTS is more than pop music. They touch many genres of music with Singularity, House of Cards and Dionyses.
