Would you say that notch sights a la AK are better at low light than apperature sights? I noticed at 02:00 during guard duty with my then issued VHS-2D that the sights were worse than useless. In low light, not only could i not see a damn thing through the rear sight, but the entire sight obstructed everything, so even thpugh i could align the rifle roughly by feeling, all i could see was the black shape of the rear sight. Did not have the same issue with notch sights. Can't align them for precision shots, but at least you can see the target and fire in its direction.

What is The sight height for the front post when you use the Wilson combat rear? Ameriglo has a couple heights for the Glock 19/17 etc

Ameriglo .240 is the closest to the recommended .245 height for all the Glocks accept the 10mm and .45. Then the .230 for them. The yellow green really pops. Best of both worlds.

How is it that a "black" rear sight allows good sight alignment in low or no light conditions even if you have a tritium front sight ? Also, what size dot on that aimpoint would you recommend for use on a defensive carbine ?

2 moa is the ideal size,most dots are 4 moa but if you get 2moa when it's on the highest setting it doesn't bloom as much the dot stays smaller and more crisp,

Wayne V if you google Eotech lawsuit you can read the details. I have used them and like them. I do not currently own one. I have several Aimpoints. HD hybrids are a nice sight - Fiber Optic WITH tritium. Good day and night.

Viking Tactics make their VTAC pistol sights that is actually a six dot sight. It has three separate tritium dots and three separate fiber optic dots. The sight sits a little taller. I tried it out on a Smith & Wesson VTAC M&P 9mm range gun and loved the sights. The gun was good too.

Ron H I have the same gun and I hate them. I like the concept but the dots are off (vertically) plus the front sight is so thin it’s hard to place it in the middle and also too thin to clearly level it flush with the top of the rear sight. Cool sights but didn’t work for me.
