They're difficult to get/find. Companies don't like giving them out and even when they do give them out, you cannot get a lot of original SMD parts, save for donor parts like in this video (Unlucky how that one board had a dead CD due to water-damage already...). This makes a lot of these repairs quite hard.

Hey Louis, I was wondering if you were ever going to comment about corporations lobbying the government for more regulation? I noticed a lot of large business entities seem to have a vested interest in increasing regulation for their entire industry which only they themselves can afford. Usually as a result smaller businesses, such as owner operators in trucking, typically go out of business and this drives their customers into the arms of the larger business which lobbied for the regulation.
