CDJ-2000nexus Hot Cues Tutorial

You need to set the autoload hotcue property for each track in Rekordbox and it should load them up when the track loads. If you forget, just press and hold the Rec/Call button under the Hotcues section and the hotcues buttons flash. Then you just need press each one you want to load up and that's all there is to it. Beware that even if you load another track, the hotcues set this way will STILL be set for the original track and you'll jump back to that track when you fire the hotcue.

Hot cues have been on Denon CDJs for years. Love using Denon equipment but no CDJs released for ages and I am reluctant to move to 100% MP3 dj so might have to give in to Pioneer!!!

Hi Pioneer DJ, Could you please explain to me how you stab in a track that is located in the hot cue bank over another track that is already playing while utilizing the slip mode. I've tried to follow along with your video from 5:00 a number of times with no luck. Thanks!

I think that this in it'self is a reason to not switch from Traktor. In Traktor you can set 8 trigger able hot cues, and additional 4 more, all of which can be color coded, and deleted. Having only 3 which aren't color/task coded and cant even be deleted seems like a major step down.

You can do that too with the pioneer sx2. I love that but I don't understand why pioneer makes it so much more difficult and less effective on professional gear like the CDJs

I love to set up cues and prepare as I go, why i can't do this in Pioneer but no problem in Traktor. I use both but when I have to sit down and go one by one my hate to Pioneer and Recorbox keeps growing big ...

I've set some hot cues for several tracks in rekordbox 2.0.1.. I exported these to a usb-device. The cdj-2000 (NOT A NEXUS) display showed me where the hot cues were but I if I pressed the hot cue buttons on the cdj2000 nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?

Is it normal for the CDJ to take a little time to play after pressing the hot cue button? I have the same problem, but I want it so that when I tap the button it plays instantly. Can someone help?

+Adam Vuong Thats because you probably have the quantize function on. It waits a little bit if you press too fast or too late, so it stays in beat, or in sync with another playing deck. Not sure where you disable quantize on a CDJ though, but this should resolve your problem.

Hi Jake, I'm afraid it's not possible on the CDJ/XDJ.

Hi Jake. Jumping to the Memory Cues is possible, however this wouldn't then play automatically. You'd have to start the track manually using Cue / Play button. Hope that helps.

Does anybody know if a CDJ 2000 Nexus shows the 8 hotcues you now have available within Rekordbox 4. I know you can only use A B and C, But I want to know if it just shows them on the display. I prefer to use the hotcues to mark my various start and end points in a track instead of the memory cues. But if the display only shows A B and C there's no point in continueing my preparation like that. (I don't have CDJ's, yet)
