Great work Christian! Man can U please make some videos using the functions of the rekordbox software analysis on a CDJ 850? Because here in São Paulo most of the clubs that I'm about to play have them and I'd like to see the features I can use in the 850 so I know them before hand so I do not get all lost when I'm about to play! Stu Fisher he just cut the loop in half and used the jog touch knob for the tape stop effect

Do you normally record your mixes via the mixer Record out into for example Audacity or Ableton. Or do you use the relatively new Rekordbox recording function?

Excellent videos. I have a question or 2,. Hopefully I can articulate correctly. I leave serato at home lately and implement the sticks and Rekordbox on CDJs. I dont really use the cue botton to introduce the song, I prefer the jog wheel. I notice that when I try to scratch the beat or sample in, when I bring the wheel back (forward/back motion) that it goes to the last beat of the previous track. Any tips on how to avoid this? Also, sometimes when I release the jog wheel the song would just return to it's CUE and not play. The CDJ 2000's vary from venues, some are the nexus and some are the 1st gen, not sure if this matters or perhaps a setting. Sorry If to long of a post. Thank u

good question. I've been pestering pioneer to add another play mode to be able to jog back into empty space of a track before it starts. right now continue and single are the modes to choose from. continue will allow for you to jog back into the previous track, and single will not allow this. I'm not sure what causes it to go back to cue instead if playing. I've definitely ran into what you're describing but haven't been able to nail down what it is that causes it.

I watched your rekordbox workflow video. I am trying to contrive a process for mine. After I download, drop my folders into metabliss and then over to mixed in key. After both of these, I have to decide if I want I tunes that way I can keep my library organized with serato and rekordbox. I do use both so this is a tuffy

Hi Christian, Thanks for sharing such nice video! I have a question. I noticed at 1:12 when you push the exit button, the track wave shows back on the bottom of the screen. Why I can't do that on my own cdj2000 nexus? I have to push the loop mode button to make it. Is that something wrong with my cd player?

James Zheng Regular loops will snap back to the waveform. Slip loops will not snap back to the waveform. Notice the difference at 2:34

Christian Jackson It's really strange there is no different on my CDJ2000nexus. They don't snap back neither with regular or slip unless pushing the loop mode button. Anyway, thanks for your response!

can you make a saved loop of a vocal in the memory or hot cue from track A and play it over track B or c etc or does it have to be recalled to play over the track the loop or sample was taken from?

The CDJ doesn't offer any track mixing internally. You'd need to have a second deck playing the loop to be able to mix it. You can use slip mode with hot cues to call vocal samples from any other track (not just the currently playing track)

I was wondering if using just one cdj you can play track A, but then press slip mode and play a hot cue from another track over track A? Currently i can only play hot cues from the track which is already loaded at the time

This is going to sound pretty stupid to you I have the completely same setup but my record box is corrupt everytime I try and analyse my Tunes in rekordbox is like a? Sort of thing at the side of each tune !!! That is what it keeps coming up with I have install Dropbox again but it still does it could it be more tunes that are corrupt I don't know is so annoying I have about 100 tunes only in record box I have another 3000 to analyse so I haven't been using record box for quite a while which is pretty annoying as I do have the setup appreciate it if you could get back to me thank you by the way see some of your clubs that you played at sounding so sick 👌👌👌👍

Jamie Baker Possible that your itunes files may be DRM protected and unusable in rekordbox. Or your file location has changed. Stop using iTunes is my main suggestion.

That is pretty mad because I don't use iTunes download them to my USB I thought it was because I am not using iTunes thanks for getting back to me so quick mate

Jamie Baker Ah, thought I read itunes when I saw you capitalized "Tunes" haha. That just means your file location has changed. I suggest having a master music folder that does not change location.
