Pro tip: first time buyers get 10% off by simply signing up for their text program. Coming from Canada, there is no tax. We’re talking $1917 I believe, and I want to say free shipping. Considering you’re getting a phenomenal 1x with a daylight bright 6moa dot, insanely nice crosshair reticle that often precludes needing said dot, and the ability to illuminate the entire reticle at dusk / in low light / night time, and it really works well …. And oh yeah, you flip the switch, not unlike flipping down a magnifier except less effort, and your “magnifier” is almost quite literally an entire 4x ACOG, with much better eye relief, almost the exact same field of view (6.5 degrees vs 7, or 34.5ish feet vs 37 feet left to right at 100yd), and that red dot was second focal plane all this time, so on 4x? 1.5 moa. Oh yeah, and all that comes in an insanely tough shell, with a quick detach mount with a true return to zero as long as it goes in the same rails. I got my latest one (after foolishly selling my first one to a friend who said he would sell it back, then decided he liked it too much 😮) around last new years , for an “end of year” 15% off sale price … this resulted in low $1800 + if I recall, and all I can think of is getting another one. Especially now that I’ve learned reptilia makes saddle mounts for the ACRO P2/T2… and the Elcan, by design, doesn’t sit in some high 1.93” or beyond mount … the standard height means that a top dot is able to be used while still maintain a cheek / jaw weld … I don’t want a 1.5-6, I don’t want a 1.5-6, I don’t want a 1.5-6 …. Just another “legacy” 1-4 , because we can all agree that an ambidextrous magnification lever and a picatinny rail on top isn’t worth $3k+ … but guys. You gotta try one. It’s a red dot / magnifier in its final form, where your red dot has both an etched reticle AND T2 level brightness, and your magnifier is essentially an ACOG TA-31, but with the eye relief of the TA-11, and that 6moa dot is still there but has transformed to a 1.5moa dot on account of it existing in the second focal plane and staying the same size while everything else got bigger. Whew lad. Whew. …… whew. I need one more.

This is cool, and if I had 3k to throw down on an optic, I would do it in a heartbeat. Sadly, I don't have 3k to throw down... but if they just do a 1x/8x or 2x/10x, I'll probably sell my soul to get that. I like my LPVO's, but I really don't need the in-between settings. Give me a 1 or 2x and then the max mag.

Are there any decent fixed power scopes in 6+ power? I see people get various VPOs (LVPO, MVPO etc.), but they piggyback red dots on them. If you cover the lower end of the magnification with a reflex sight, why not mount it on a fixed power scope? Or is it just not in vogue with the gun community?

I have practical experience with it on 7.62 rifle, and it’s sucks, especially for so expensive optic. - mount doesn’t hold enought … optic slides back and forth every time you shot - parallax is set on 300m … really bad for zeroing at 100m - practical eye relief really short + huge ocular .. it hits you on your eye if not in perfect shooting position .. anyway it hits you on your helmet every time. - back iron sight felt off after couple of shooting (without helmet).. and also hitting you in helmet every shot - iron sights are useless - 1.5x sucks .. its far away from 1x - SFP sucks .. in dynamic and tactical shooting people forget to switch to 6x .. switch is “finicky” to use - mechanism is exposed .. you never know when something fucks your zero - reticle not bad, but also not great .. BDC never match your ballistics - center dot to big for using it on 1.5x and ranges further than 50m - price should be 3 or more times cheaper for what you get Better to buy normal LPVO, if possible FFP … “ Primary Arms much cheaper and much better “

First time purchasers get a 10% off using a coupon given for signing up for their text program - since it’s from Canada, there is no tax, and that means you end up paying $1917 or thereabouts. Alternatively ? I got my 1-4 during an “end of the year” sale last new years. 15% off. It was in the low 1800s after shipping. 10-15% off of an optic that costs over $2000 is massive, and when you consider what you’re getting, built in ultra high quality mount, insane durability, centerline 1x with a 6moa daylight bright dot, and a beautiful crosshair reticle that oftentimes doesn’t even need said dot, as well as the dusk/ low light/ nighttime full reticle illumination…. Oh yeah, and then you flip a switch, and you have almost literally a TA-31 ACOG with 6.5 degrees field of view instead of 7, or 34.5ish feet left to right @ 100yd vs the TA-31’s 37 feet …. And the red dot, which has become a 1.5 moa dot since it is second focal plane and doesn’t change size even as everything else becomes magnified 4x by beautiful Japanese glass … man, oh man. The elcan is so wonderfully and beautifully made. Don’t bother with the $3000+ gen 3, just grab the “legacy” 1-4 for 10% off @ $1900 and change, or during a (Black Friday? End of the year?) sale for 15% off @ $1800 and change, and man oh man. This thing is an absolute monster. It’s almost like a red dot/ magnifier combo built into one, except your 1x red dot has an insanely good crosshair reticle, and your magnifier is a 4x ACOG. -Elcan enjoyer who is now trying not to desire a 1.5-6x, upon finding out that reptilia makes ACRO and T2 saddle mounts for these … and the Elcan sits low enough that you maintain a decent cheek / jaw weld when using a top dot … … … I may have an ACRO saddle mount en route for my 1-4 so that my P2 can join it in beautiful perfect harmony. God…. I love these things.

ARMS levers are pot metal "soft" mounts. Pat Rogers educated us on these circa 2003. I can honestly say I haven't seen anyone using these mounts since 2005 and never see the L can on any rifle used by any Law Enforcement Agency including Feds or dialed in Civilians. The only one I did see was in a DRMO box for a nearby police department. He put it on his rifle and tried it for a month then gave it away....
