Welcome to today's CDP, a build designed to celebrate the arrival of Terminal Revenge to TCG shores, and this time we're showcasing the Infernoid theme but with a Dark Fusion twist. If you missed the first time I showcased this new wave of Infernoid support, be sure to check it out here: • CDP: Infernoid Snake-E...
In short, the Infernoid archetype breaks the standard rules of the game, able to be Special Summoned from the hand or GY by banishing Infernoid monster(s) from your hand or GY, as long as the total Levels and Ranks you control are 8 or lower. This gives the deck a reputation for being able to extend their plays forever, as long as you keep having enough fuel in your GY to banish. In-theme, there are three solutions to that fuel problem: the first is Void Imagination, a Continuous Spell that can send up to 6 Fusion Material from the deck when Fusion Summoning, as long as your opponent controls a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. The third is the new Void Blaze-Up, a Spell that not only trades your hand for a fresh hand of cards, but it also can banish itself to return up to 11 banished Infernoid monsters back to the GY. The best option is Infernoid Evil, a new Level 1 Fusion that banishes an Infernoid then sends a number of Infernoid monsters to the GY, equal to the banished Infernoid's level. Since the third option is so much better than the others, it only makes sense to optimize getting to it and protecting it from disruption.
So, in a nutshell, that's why Dark Fusion pairs so well! Dark Fusion can summon any Fiend Fusion using material from your hand/field, plus it prevents your opponent from targeting the Fusion Summoned monster the rest of the turn. With no Infinite Impermanence or Effect Veiler to stop you, odds are your Evil will resolve properly. The nice thing about this tech is that it also is tutorable by Evil HERO Adusted Gold, which adds the versatility of giving you the option to tutor Dark Calling instead, unlocking Evil HERO Malicious Bane, if you feel so inclined! Once all is said and done, you'll have so many Infernoid monsters milled to the GY, giving you the perfect opportunity to Fusion Summon Infernoid Tierra with as many monsters as possible, all due to the Fusion effect of the new Fiendsmith Sequentia. While it is a LINK-2 that requires a LIGHT Fiend as material, Moon of the Closed Sky just happens to fill that need quite well. Let your Imagination run wild with power as you leverage the strength of the new and improved Infernoid archetype!
