Nice job. One thing I would use is some high temp red grease for the bearing and some locktite on the screws. You can also use the drain plug first before pulling the differential. Nice job though.

That’s what I have on mine but the dealer found the torrid was rubbing on inclines. So he had to grind it down a little. Great video! Sharing this with a few others for sure!

"Torrid was rubbing on inclines", I don't know what this means, this is my first ATV....LOL! Explain a lil bit better for me!
@NorthCountryBoyz6 жыл бұрын
Stupid iPhone always correcting my spelling. LOL. Tie rods. The tie rods when on an incline to the left or the right where ever they were being maxed out downwards would rub on the stem of the pinon plate. So they did a little light grinding not to take away from the dexterity of the pinion plate so it didn't rub on it when steering. I will see if I can get a picture for you on what I mean. If you use instagram add me: northcountryboyz315

Did you drain the diff fluid first as well? or just let some of it drip out? Also, is it good to heat up the yoke first before getting the pin out? torch or heatgun is you can?

Question for you my friend, the plastic engine guards, is it just plastic rivets holding them in place all the way around? The dealer forgot to put mine back on when they serviced it. They sent me new guards but no hardware..

Show me a pic of the area you are talking about so that I don't tell you the wrong thing!

The How-To Guy The plastic engine guard inside the wheel well, covers the gas tank.. I'm not home to take a pic.. looks like rivets in your vid. Thanks man!

Really should torque to spec with a torque wrench just to be safe. Do you know the factory specs by chance?

NO, but I will look into that ASAP, good looking out!

Great video. Good tutorial. I just bought a used 2018 Scrambler 1000 and read that Polaris changed the pinion cover to steel. Im taking my chances with the stock part so I'll let you know if I ever run into issues!

Why do u need to replace the factory one ?
@TheHowToGuy6 жыл бұрын
We were told that from all of our Polaris riders that its a weak point. Better to spend $100 than 1K to fix the gear.

The factory housing cracked under stress. BUT...Polaris said this was fixed with the 2018s, but I did it anyways!
