Great lecture! Thankyou sir! Should have mentioned Dr Johnson's "London" too. And Thomas Gray. Also, Tatler was released even before Spectator, and not in the last.

Satire of Dr Johnson s' were different from Dryden and Pope too, Satires of Swift and Johnson s' are alike, because both followed Juvenile (Latine )s satires.

daniel defoe not mentioned
@RweetoRKO7 жыл бұрын
defoe belongs essentially to the age of pope and not the later 1750's which happens to be the age of johnson

Plenty of mistakes in facts..please check notes before telling...though your style is quite simple n easy to comperhense...Tetler was the first periodical n not the last one,Moll Flanderer was written by Daniel Defoe,and Steel was born in1772 not in 1662..

@mohdyounassaleem22564 жыл бұрын
you are factually incorrect steele was born in 1672 as sir mentioned

plenty of mistakes these words may not be suitable for him.... because it is his age factor one or two may happen in his speech... not whole lecture. there are diffrent books and diffent interpretations about literature... every one free to express his opinions. do not generalise your opinions on such experienced lecture.
