Hello John, Thanks so much for kind comment! I have tried to emulate those old cars whose seats had 'heat pressed channels'. Furthermore, I used to do it on motorcycles seats, at the beginning of the eighties. I had a bigger machine at that time and all the seat pleats came out at one go. Above all, it is just an application of basic sewings we can find in a humble and the most luxurious car. I think it depends on how to put them together. Merry Christmas!
@Theluckyneedle6 жыл бұрын
@@Cechaflo That's a great way to emulate those pleats. Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas to you as well. Hey by the way you should check out the forum I started. You have a lot of fans on there and they would love hear from you. www.TheUpholsteryForum.com

@Cechaflo4 жыл бұрын
You would need a dialectric press like master Calvin shows in his video. Microwaves are used to heat the material (vinyl, leather. foam) in order to be embosed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ-xZXtvZquhbZo Hot platen presses could also be useful. You could order a new one from a press manufacturer or get a used one. It is important to consider the embossing area. An idea:www.almamachinery.com/machine/used-100-ton-accudyne-5780/ surplusrecord.com/listings7/036357.html

Looks absolutely amazing and i'm probably going to implement some of these design choices on my bike, how ever why green folds do not seem to have any foam in them and further more this design has serious flaw where when it rains these folds collect the water and it will seep to foam from the seams. It would be best to treat the seams with some leather grease or oil to prevent water getting in.
@multishit66644 жыл бұрын
OEM seats have a plastic liner over the foam. That would be the best soultion.

Dude. You are a freaking MASTER! I love the look of that seat. I wish I had access to a surger like that. I'm have a few questions. Is there a way to build up a rear ridge to create a deeper saddle on a plastic pan solo seat? Maybe you have a vid of how to change to a deeper saddle? And, what kind of thread do you use when sewing leather? I only have a regular sewing machine, but I'd love to try something like this. I wish I had a way to do the pleated panel. That is totally badass. You are an artist, bro.
@Cechaflo6 жыл бұрын
Hello, yes, it is possible to create the deeper saddle. I do not have a how-to video. When sewing leather I use the 'standard polyester thread 92 size for the 'basic closing sewings'. In case of decorative stitches a 138 size suits well. A 110=18 needle for the thin thread and a 140=22 needle for the thicker decorative thread. I have videos related to do regular pleats:kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoCml4eVfZd3frs kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnqad35vnqZmpLs kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zn27gYt-ndVkl8k I suppose this is what you asked for at the beginning...I mean the raised saddle:kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3isgoGqqshnf80 Thanks for watching the videos! @Cechaflo5 жыл бұрын
Dear George, the string is a thick polyester thread I used instead of the thin wire to pull the edge and give shape to the corners. Thanks for watching the video!
@lada90942 жыл бұрын
how did you make the stripes on the green seat? is it a hot press or is everything just filled with glue and then pressed with a press? it is necessary to make a similar larger size for a yacht, that is, with a minimum number of seams and punctures
@Cechaflo2 жыл бұрын
I used a small hot plate press. The lines were embossed and glued down (heat activated glue) to the backing fabric on the reverse. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHy3m6aEhatsrqM I did the same here:kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3ane6CBerxloq8 If you are interested in larger sizes then it would be necessary a big hydraulic press. It could be of hot plates or a microwaves ( dialectric) press. Hopefully, this gentleman (Mr. Calvin Clark)could provide the service you are looking for: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ-xZXtvZquhbZo I hope this information helps.
