I actually stayed there out of desperation in 1983. $9/day, locks on most doors busted, and the grungiest latrine ever. Paint can't cover mold.

In 1985, the Night Stalker lived there. The lobby looked as bad as the rooms, and the place was full of roaches. The Greyhound station was a block away and unsuspecting tourists paid $14 per night to stay at the Cecil. They were probably traumatized for life.

Ugh that hotel is disgusting. Please for the people who is touring Los Angeles, do yourself a favor. DONT EVER STAY HERE. this place is near Skid Row, one of the most notorious place in LA. If you must stay around Downtown LA, go at Miyako Hotel. Miyako Hotel is much cleaner and nicer. At least you are not near Skid Row. It maybe a bit expensive but at least it's much safer.
