Being American is not what makes this man ignorant about opera; he simply doesn't have an interest for it. Would you expect me to know everything about hip-hop, even though I have no interest in it? Please, don't assume that someone is clueless about something simply because of their nationality. It is really quite juvenile. And by the way, I'm American and have a passion for opera, and singing in general. Maybe us Virginians are different, but your stereotype, sir, has just been proven wrong.

She's not a Lyric Mezzo. She's a Light Coloratura Mezzo

Fach is really only a part of the total. Even Sopranos have done Carmen. I could see her as a Carmen. I’ve Done Carmen and I’m a coloratura mezzo. Coloratura is not so much a fach. It means agility of runs and intricate passages. My range runs from contralto c2 to soprano d6. What makes me a mezzo is the timbre. I’m mezzo and not contralto because a true contralto has an androgynous timber. Mine is a very warm feminine timber. I’ve heard Cecilia sing an e flat 6 full voice. Definitely not mezzo range! It’s when you hear the honeyed caramel dark timber in the low register that you say wow yes desfinitely mezzo!
