Yes it was really interesting to see something from Ariana back in the day, this was a request from a subscriber. I agree I think she’s continued to grow in her technique and artistry since then and it’s awesome to see!

It’s actually not that old. Maybe 4-5 years ago in LA. I sat front row at Rockwell for this show just to see JRB and had no idea she’d show up. Screamed my face off when he called her out.

Her mouth movements ARE necessary for what she wants to come out, they DO affect the shape and attack/precision of the notes in her runs, but only Ariana can do it so well, so it's not mainstream, and it makes her unique.

thank you so much for giving your feedback and opinion! My main point when I bring that up was to make sure that other singers didn’t feel like they had to do the exact same thing, everyone’s voice operates differently and that’s totally okay! I am of the school of thought that placement for singers is individual to the singer, she for sure executes it well and it is very unique to her I agree! Thank you again for taking the time to watch my video and for adding your input. It is so nice to hear others opinions and takes on her technique! 💕

Shoshana Bean conforms to what her partner needs. She can sound anyway she wants. She's as versatile as any singer in the world. Classical to R& B to jazz, to ballad. I suggest reacting to "Make it Rain".

I remembered watching this performance so long ago and really wanted a vocal coach to give analysis on the performance. Such a lucky day for me. It's interesting to see 2 different vocal wise Arianas here :). Her jaw movement sometimes makes me uncomfortable to watch. I don't know if she can totally get rid of it.

Yes that is why I felt compelled to say that some of those mouth shapes aren’t necessary lol she’s a wonderful vocalist and I hope she knows she doesn’t need them to sing those runs! I think all us singers end up picking up some interesting habits during the course of our lives, it doesn’t seem to get in the way of her support now and I hope she is making a choice there and is not dependent on it!

I find it super interesting both comments from you as well as Cecilia because I definitely understand where you are coming from in saying the jaw movements aren’t necessarily needed, however Ariana has on many occasions shown she can do the runs and riffs without the movements from her jaw which leads me to believe it is more of a stylistic choice for her. Her being in the industry for over a decade I do think that she has adapted her own style to add certain tones or tonal color to runs, riffs, etc. 🤍

@@ryanpelletier5208 wonderful insights! Yes it can be used as a stylistic choice, and like I said before it doesn’t really interrupt her healthy vocalism. I think that she does what is best for her body and what is characteristic of her style, I think as an educator I just like to make sure that less experienced vocalists that aren’t as expert at their craft as she is don’t try to execute it improperly. As long as it’s a choice with a healthy breath underneath then it totally is fine! Love this comment thank you so much for visiting my channel and joining the conversation. 💕

@@musiccecilia7754 thank you so much! And I agree, although I am only 17 I have watched so many reactions to Ariana to see how vocal coaches and other musicians see her. She is actually a coach on the voice this season and all the other coaches (Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and John Legend) have said Ariana is like the most technical when it comes to her voice and vocal health. Her gift to the artists on her team was a lunch box with vocal supplements, teas, throat coats, pastilles (she has said she used to eat these all the time like candy while she in 13 on Broadway) to help them with their vocal health. Also speaking of the voice, you should react to the coaches performance of season 21!!! Thank you for replying!

@@ryanpelletier5208 I saw that! Her supplements are actually things I use for my own voice and because of her musical theater training it certainly will allow her to understand technically what’s happening, I have been keeping up with the voice myself and actually have considered trying to audition for the show in the future. It’s the best (in my opinion) of the voice reality shows for sure. She is delightful and I love getting to give my insights on such a masterful singer!
