I think she does do stuff like that, I know in a another older video I watched she was making a commercial for something. I think she did do videography and photography for something local and I think that is what helped her get her youtube started, not sure if that is all accurate, but what I have gathered from watching some of her older videos.

Without question the best region specific content creator on KZbin. While the storytelling is impeccable, the photography and drone footage in every episode beyond compare, for me what stands out the most is the Love that Cecilia has for everything Svalbard and for her beautiful family. In an age of clickbait’s and shticks, more than true content, this stands as a beacon of hope for all of us who are much more interested in soulful and authentic storytelling- Much love to You, Christopher, Grimm and the Svalbard community from Dallas, TX

Winter is tough and can be depressing. I don't mind looking at the cold and dark for a few minutes a week on this channel but living it day in and day out for months is a a major downer for most people. People who live on Svalbard are there because they are the rare ones who enjoy it.

@@lolah3838 around 10% of people have reverse SAD and thrive in the cold and darker months, October-February and get depressed March-September. I am one of those people. The dark and cold of winter brings me joy while bright, sunny days and warmth are a major downer for me. My best friend and son are the same. We would do well in Svalbard. Thank you for all your cool videos about Svalbard. I worked in the radio broadcasting business for over 30 years. I had a late friend and colleague who served as the Program Director of KBRW AM-FM, two radio stations in Utqiagvik (formerly Barrow), Alaska, USA. Utqiagvik is the northernmost city in the US. I have always been fascinated by life in the Arctic. The polar nights is one of my favorite things about the region. I'm glad you took some time to talk about the Christmas season in Svalbard. I have always wanted to spend the holidays in a place that has polar nights. Christmas lights 24 hours a day sounds great! Love it! One difference about Utqiagvik is that it never goes into pitch darkness, as Svalbard does for 2.5 months. During the middle of winter, The Sun gets to about four degrees below the horizon. Apparently, the difference between The Sun staying six degrees below the horizon at Svalbard and reaching 4 degrees below the horizon at Northern Alaska is enough to give the sky over Northern Alaska a little light each day, though The Sun is never visible. My friend would often send me photos and videos of every day life during winter. One unforgettable photo was actually not a winter photo, but it was a close up of a mother polar bear and two cubs wandering around the back door of the radio station's office and studio building. One of the cubs was on the deck behind the radio station. Being a Floridian living in North Carolina, I can say that is something I do not get to see every day. I hope that some day i will be able to visit Svalbard or the Northern Slope of Alaska. I'm glad i found your channel. Takk igjen for at du deler den interessante informasjonen og videoene fra den vakre arktiske øya.

I love the comments about cleaning, especially the variations in english: * hoovering (once in a while, I've heard that, but not often - but I'm american). * taking out the dishwasher I've taken the dishwasher out several times to fix it or replace it. It's a pain!! I get what you meant, though (taking the dishes out, emptying, whatever). Not that such variations don't happen even locally. In my same state, I started dating a girl in college and she asked me if I would ride her to town ("will you ride me to town?"). I responded "no, i have a car and also...isn't that a bit forward?!" Now I live in the city she came from and it's not that common, but people say it. It means "give me a ride to town".

So very calm, peaceful and magical. Does your family ever come to visit you? I'm from Massachusetts and know you were somewhere close by when you visited the states. Yes things are expensive here as well. I think its worldwide now. Our mothers and fathers got through the depression so I imagine we will as well. Love your videos.

I have gone through such a journey since I discovered your videos last year. I feel like you’ve been by my side through the craziest year of my life and you have provided me so much comfort! Seriously. You ground me. Anyway we had bought, remodeled, and moved into our first home and I stumbled upon your channel right after we moved in. I was having a hard time with all of the change and feeling emotional and somehow your polar night content (and beyond) has continued to help center me. Anyway, here we are a year later and I recently found out I am pregnant with my first baby. I have been scared shitless to be honest and finding so much comfort in your content ❤🫶

These pictures of the lights in your city are really beautiful. Obviously, the planners of Svalbard figured out a great way to light things up. It's so amazing!

We have short sunlight days now, but at least 6 hrs of sunlight in Northern Canada. I don’t think I could cope with 247 darkness. That would be too much for me.

I can’t tell you how much I love your videos. I was supposed to move to Skellefteå way up in the north of Sweden (not quite as north as Svalbard!) in August, but decided not to at the last minute because I wasn’t ready. Seeing your videos makes me feel like I’m living in northern Sweden in a weird way, and I love it. And I even understand some of your Norwegian even though I’ve been learning Swedish. I am from Chicago in the US, and I thought we had long dark winters, but your videos are making me appreciate the darker months. Thank you again, and I can’t wait to see what you post next! Vänliga hälsningar!

Your words to Grimm are just hysterical! I honestly think I could maybe live there, because I work 12 hour night shifts at the hospital and I sleep all day. So I would be working at night there, and then sleeping in the day during the beautiful dark. Whereas now despite blackout curtains my bedroom is still too bright for me. Someday I will come visit. I love, love, love your videos

WOW I just stumbled across your channel and I must say, as person living in a crammed city with 2.5 million people this looks like heaven on earth!! Sure it’s a harsh life…but my word that is a beautiful place. Also, my family originated from all over Scandinavia (my last name ends with “Dahl”). Maybe I could survive out there! Lol

I am near Chicago too! Cecilia has got me appreciating our weather so much. Every morning and dusk I take extra time to soak in the sky. I have been watching her videos to be less wimpy of our cold weather and so far so good… even tho we really have not had super cold weather yet. What a mild November.

I'm in love with Svalbard! I died when you yelled No Frozen Poop! LOL-doggies are the same the world over, aren't they? And I loved hearing about the knitting. I would also love to hear about other crafts that people are doing in your village. I have so looked forward to "spending" another Christmas season with you guys! Thank you so much for these videos Cecilia. They speak to my soul.

I loved this Video, I live in Scotland so in winter months it starts to get dusk about 3.30pm and dark by 4pm ish depending on what kind of day it is I.E wet and dull so its dark quicker and it is after 8 am before it gets light, I love the dark nights, It would be an experience to live in dark for 4 months, I think people would have to try and keep happy and keep others motivated during 4 months of darkness, I love to see how others live i also watch the sommers in Alaska and what they do through the winter months, I used to hate the winter now i love it
