Damn, Ced just dropped a bomb after 33 years. The murder of Scott La Rock was the first death in hip hop that really hit me hard. BDP was my favorite group at that point as a 13-14 year old. "Robcop boy, he's down with us. Makin' funky music is a must. I'm number 1".

I know ced personally and we never talked too much about Scott who I met when he gave me a flyer that said he was gonna dj at the zodiac. Ced is one of those dudes that knows God gave us one mouth and two ears for a reason. Ced never said a word about this back in the day. Damn this is some sad sh*t. The only thing I heard was dee having beef over a girl and Scott wanted to squash it just like ced mentioned and the dude shot him. KRS isn't really that cool with dee nice til this day. I think it was over scott.

Same here. Mixmaster Show one saturday night. I think Mwalk was the one who played it all the way out..the whole 4 verses. I was watchin' "a man called hawk" with the volume down. Mind you they always played the Ultra Bonus beat, basically a small instrumental. So I'm hearing Kool Keith's voice for the first time and i thought it was Shan because Shan Cool.C and Milk D were the only MCs that had that pitch. But then I heard Keith's offbeat on beat flow also a more nasal register and I was blown away. No one was saying or conveying words that he was. But then the 2nd verse(Ced's Verse) shattered my whole concept of emceeing. He didn't even rhyme! Plus he also had a rugged grown voice like Chuck D or Delite. I lost it. First time understanding the synthetic substitution break and hear no drum break like that before. Then they finished me off with the 3rd and 4th verses where they switched patterns up with Keith's verse not rhymin'. Just gone...I was gone! Plus it was an abstract Diss record to Run Dmc's "Peter Piper"
