He did shout out Killer Ben in Fort greene but i hear what you're saying. Dudes use street connections for street cred but he had so much respect that he left all that gangsta shit out... and was still the most hardcore rapper out. In that generation we didn't glorify bad activites we kept it hush cause we wanted our elders to respect us more than we wanted the youth to respect us
@seekingtruthonly.42995 жыл бұрын
Gangstas don't really exist. Theres two types of people in the street. 1. There are guys who do things for money, but it's really not them. Their plan is to get paid and get out, but sometimes they get shot or locked up/caught up. Outside of getting caught up, they don't want their activities known. Sure they do things people consider gangster, but it's not really who they are. It'sa means to an end. And 2. Is guys who emulate the first group and mimic something that's not them, but they want to be "known" as gangstas. They are real flashy and trying to be seenas something they're not for a reputation. Neither is really a gangster, both will do things square people consider gangster and get labeled as something they're not, but they each have different motivations.

@subzero3639 The Bible teaches that God is holy, just, merciful, gracious, loving, and sole creator(Genesis 1:1, Psalm 24:1). The Bible also teaches that man is born with a dreadful sin nature(Psalm 51:5, Ephesians 2:3) and transgressed God's law(Romans 3:23). Since God is the righteous judge, He will punish sinners according to His eternal standard. According to God's word, that punishment is an eternal,physical, and conscious torment(Daniel 12:2,Matthew 25:41, Matthew 3:12, Revelations 14:10-11, Revelations 20:10) in Hell-separated forever from the goodness of God. The good news is that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ who is equally eternal(John 1:1) and equal in rank and importance(John 5:18, John 10:30) to the Father and the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin to be the means for escape from the domain of darkness and wrath of God for those who repent and believe the gospel. Jesus lived a sinless life and voluntarily and lovingly died on the cross by taking upon Himself our sin and the wrath of God that His elect deserve. Jesus was buried and resurrected(1 Corinthians 15:1-5) on the third day from the grave- demonstrating His power over sin and death and is seated at the right hand of the Father (Ephesians 1:20-23). Your good works or deeds of the Law are not sufficient. Jesus who is fully God and fully man is the complete and perfect sacrifice. It is not grace plus merit, faith plus works, or even Christ plus unrighteous man that will justify the sinner. As a vile wretch, you can be be justified(declared right before God) by only free grace alone, through faith alone and in Christ alone(Romans 3:28, Ephesians 2:8-9). Will you repent(a change of mind that results in the abandonment of sin and turning to the Lord Jesus Christ) and trust in this unchanging Gospel(Mark 1:15) or will you remain an enemy of God?

Melle Mel who Rakim studied is the Pioneer of Lyrical rap. He invented the term emcees (not M.C.) also. Kool Moe Dee is also a pioneer of word play and flows, he invented super fast rhyming and thesaurus heavy words. Grandmaster Caz is a lyrical pioneer on the story telling, clever word play, humorous hard core style of rapping. They all had songs before 82 out. They all were rhyming in the 70s. Rakim is the extension of them and he admits that.

RAKIM is easily the greatest EMCEE I’ve ever heard. His rhyme schemes, cadence, demeanor, knowledge, that quiet rage and energy made him seem like he was way older than his age when he first came out. I was a senior in high school when Paid in Full dropped, I wore that tape out, had to keep rewinding in amazement. I lost count of how many times I bought that album. Like Ra said “RAP is Rhythm and Poetry!” And this Brother is in my opinion, the greatest Poet to ever bless the Mic.

If you're a true Rakim historian you would know that EVERY major artist since his time has LITERALLY took a bar from him. From Eminem to Nas to Snoop to Jay Z. LITERALLY. When you break down rhyme patterns he birthed complex rhyme styles like MJ birthed fadeaways and low post pivot moves for guards. "They strain to sling slang, I'm trained to bring game, The way that I arranged, Been regained by King James" "Go to practice with tactics when the track hits...theatrics." Rakim
