Im cladding a solid core door, exterior grade in western red cedar. A lot goes into these doors but the out come is worth it. When its oiled up it'll look stunning and provide a solid door. I could of taken much longer on this but the outcome would be much the same.

Love the channel and your pile idea is a great one I can see a lot off people using that idea. Just a word off advice when cladding with cedar its advisable to leave a 2 to 3mm expansion when joining together, you be surprised how much that stuff can move

Evening Mr. Griffin. Cracking door mate. Very nice indeed. I made one for my shed last month, not a patch on that at all. But then again, I just made it for a shed! Also, best start to a video ever. “Right, I’m gonna do a quick video cos I haven’t got a lot of time and I’m not in the best mood. A lot of companies make it look like a gate which is a load of......, well it’s not very good!” 😂😂

I’m very honest and also trying not to be derogatory about anyone else. I’ve had a real bad week and a gate door is wank! With this in mind, I engage the start of my video 😊🤣

You should have only pinned one side on in the beginning. Then you could have scribed the board that needed ripping from underneath cut it, fit it then end on. But it is great work none the less.

Hey there, enjoying your videos. I have a project coming up which may require something very similar but I was worried that by only cladding one side of the door blank that it could end up shaping the door as the cedar expands and contracts causing the whole door to curl. Am over thinking this? Or did you end up cladding the reverse side of this door in an alternative material to prevent this? Keep the videos coming. Cheers

Love your videos, on this one I have a few questions. 1) do you add a cedar strip to the base, after you have cut the excess lengths? 2) once fitted does the door align with the wall cladding, or is it recessed slightly, I’ve seen the following video you made but can’t work out how it finishes 3) how do you install the lock/handle? Love you channel, absolute class

Do you make a custom door lining or suit or do you use a standard lining and just let the door protrude? Assume this door opened outwards? Looks like a very smart idea for a seamless wall.
