Great review Pete, I just bought one, looking forward to seeing it in hand. BTW Kai USA would send you a deep carry clip free of charge if you ask them, all you have to do is tell them what clip you want and they'll post them to you. (I have done this in the past for my ZT0456), they would also send screws to fill in those empty holes where the clip fits on the presentation side, again I have done this for a couple of my ZT's (0920, 0804CF) and again free of charge, you just have to ask them. From experience ZT has excellent customer service and are only too happy to do this kind of thing.

With the usual IMHO caveat, the 0470 does a great job of straddling the line between user and gentleman's carry. I typically have a PM2 with me around the house, but it doesn't like to share pocket space. When I'm out, the 0470 almost disappears next to my wallet (carried in the front in deference to a bad back) and looks classy if I need to use it, but it's a harder use knife than, say, a Mnandi.

Technically speaking if you're paternal grandfather had the gene for male pattern baldness, there's a 50% chance you'll have that gene as well. My mom's father was bald. I have a full head of hair with no signs of balding.

Baldness is a hereditary trait passed down from the mother's side of your family tree. Thank your mom for that. I thank mine for it everyday.
@_BLANK_BLANK3 жыл бұрын
I've always heard that. I really doubt that's true, I mean as far as I know genetics does work that way. We get half our genes from both of the parents. So for the baldness gene, you will get a set from the mother and father, then depending on dominance and recessivenness of the gene, and pure luck decides what you end up with.

Vanilla Ice baby, ahahaha. Those big trucks made clumps of pubic-like hair sprout up instantly on my neck, in homage to your MPB I will never ever shave it, I got ya dude. The 0452 is still by far my top favorite knife I've ever owned, but this 0470 is definitely on my Must-Have List for the more formal clothing day, so to say; I'm always drawn to marbled carbon fiber, the handle shape adds a sleek look, and given the overwhelmingly positive Reviews I've seen on this model (from people I trust) it's a no-brainer to throw in the money. Heh, I always get a chuckle from people who rip on knife prices. I just placed some money down on a Benchmade 560 Freek with Dual color (well technically 3) G-10 handles in M4. Yeah it's $191 but everything I have heard about Benchmade is they will take care of you if you buy from them. From stories of people sending a knife in to have blade centering and play sorted out, to people pointing out an issue in their knife at Bladeshow and being given a brand new knife on the spot. I think that's part of what you are paying for when you buy a knife from these companies.

Male pattern baldness comes from the mother's side (I know, seems counter-intuitive). However, my mom does NOT own a giant Ford truck, so not sure what to say about that...
@janniejanse4805 жыл бұрын
I'm considering buying my first ZT, but every now and then their heat treatment comes into question. Even here on Pete's channel we've seen their S35VN vastly under-perform and even their 20CV was lacking. Of course, geometry is a big factor, but I can't help but suspect that they put a soft heat treat on their blades, maybe to make them tougher and keep up with their "Built Like A Tank" image (kind of like Esee does with their knives). Does anyone have any insights? Am I just paranoid? P.S. I laughed out loud when you flipped that pocket clip the bird, Pete. Kershaw screws are a nightmare to undo. Loctite hell. I just gave up trying to move my Blur's pocket clip to the tip-up position. No idea why they go so overboard with the glue on their pocket clip screws.
@yeaman9925 жыл бұрын
They list their target hardness in their catalog for 20cv as 60-62 which is more than fine, the knives are just thick behind the edge with a obtuse edge bevel out of the box. Love my 0462!

G'day Pete! (I get to use cliche's if you do, aka ignorant southerner...😔) nah, always a fan. I did however notice that you used a different technique for the size comparisons. I felt that it worked ok, although a little less effective. I wanted to suggest, not moving the camera between shots of different knives and also split screen maybe? Speaking of size comparison check out this gnarly statement my 90 year old great uncle made today: "my memory is like my dick, it keeps getting shorter"

First of all, that ain't baldness. THIS is baldness! *blinds everyone with a quick flash of my 8-ball head* Secondly, leave your father out of this. Third, I keep seeing this Kershaw Atmos Deluxe around and everybody seems to be in love with it.
