@@CatEater--ImeanLover I had 2 colonies right now, first is Camponotus Sanctus ( I not sure , may be its some Camponotus Sp ) that I luckily caught my self in raining season. Second one is Acanthomyrmex thailandensis that I buy form the local in my country. Both is really friendly ant for newbie and easy to keep, no sting not aggressive. For the one who just start antkeeping I think Carpenter ant is the easiest. Hope you found your first ant queen soon!!! Its easy to found them more than you think.

The younger major was standing guard. You can't leave a place you know is safe and secure without someone to guard it. I noticed they had 1 major with the queen and the other major keeping their home secure. If something started to happen in the new home the know they can retreat to the old home because it is secured by the younger major.

Each August I'd have to witness close to a Million (what I presume were Queens) escape into the attic. Flying everywhere. Huge flying Ants.
