A huge congratulations to our four heroes and friends on 50(!) years since setting out on their voyage!!! You are so right, Bobby's Brother, people certainly need love now and will always need it, which is why this simple song is so important, in my opinion. I love how you singled out "faith in a helping hand" and "I still have faith in you" together. The more I think about it after watching this video, the more I am convinced that everything really does come full circle now, as you put it. Björn put it so beautifully in the Apple Music interview when he said about "Voyage": "This was what was supposed to happen at this moment" - They released "Voyage" exactly 40 years after "The Visitors" and now, they're launching the new concerts exactly 50 years after their very first recording in English. What I thought was really interesting was when you mentioned the mutual themes of love and compassion in "People Need Love" "Love Isn't Easy" and "He Is Your Brother" and the fact that that first performance of "People Need Love" was on an early evening show for children, I didn't know that before! When you said that, it reminded me of the performance of "He Is Your Brother" at the 1979 Unicef concert, where ABBA are joined on stage by all these different artists, including Olivia Newton-John and the Bee Gees, to sing this song about love and compassion at a charity event for children. And now, they are back with lines like "Love and hope is why I am here now" - I couldn't have said it better, Bobby's Brother, ABBA certainly give us lots of love! A toast to 50 years of ABBA with ABBA being back! I am so happy to be part of this wonderful community - see you all next time!

Hej, Marike. These are the kind of comments I love reading so much, and which makes it all worthwhile. You've added a wonderful thought concerning the UNICEF performance, connecting it to my thoughts and making it all even more complete. These details just show how wonderfully genuine and complete ABBA's story and deeds are. And it also happens to be the only TV performance of the song (together with the 1977 live appearance in "ABBA: The Movie"). On that Apple Music interview, Björn also said that "Voyage" was the "missing piece of the puzzle", something along these lines. And when Benny was recently asked what he was proudest of with ABBA, he said it's how they have remained good friends. On that note, what a wonderful 50th anniversary celebration indeed!! Thank you, Marike, for another heartwarming and thoughtful comment!

Today is a very special day for the history of rock and pop music Just as in the 60s, the recording of "Love me do" by the revolutionary BEATLES is a historical milestone. (This year will be 60 years since its recording in September) for the decade of the 70s the official recording of "People need love" by four unknown Swedes to the world who two years later shocked them with "Waterloo" and finally inserted themselves in an Anglo-Saxon market to build the most brilliant act is another historical event. of the 70s, in the conflictive post-BEATLES era yes, these four unknown swedes, who did not even think about forming a group, are the ones who 50 years ago today made a transcendental song and it is what we celebrate today, the message of the lyrics, the happy melody and the beautiful vocal harmonies that remain his trademark BEATLES were the giants of the 60s ABBA came to revolutionize the 70s and Both are on the Podium of the greatest group in the history of music I write all this as a fan of The BEATLES since my young years And as a fan of ABBA who renewed his strength in me in my middle age And today we celebrate these 'four Swedish turnips' (Benny's words when they reach 1000 weeks of "Gold" in the UK Top 100, before anyone else) To these four Swedes who didn't think of being a group in 1972, and didn't think of coming back after 1982 To these four Swedes who in 2016, when they celebrated the 50th anniversary of Benny and Björn's friendship, were struck by the same nostalgia with which they made us fall in love during a decade of activity and four of silence To these four Swedes who returned to the recording studio after 35 years in 2017/18 and revived the magic of those early days Today we celebrate the retrospective emotion of the magic of life in these four humble and grateful Swedes who, in the hardest moment in recent history (due to the covid pandemic), gave us the living message of "People need love" reincarnated in their own lives and made new life in "I still have faith in you" and "Don't shut me down" To see your beautiful video is to go through so many points that were the amalgamation of the nascent ABBA sound, with the love, respect and admiration of the new generations, which renews the emotions of the old generations like mine. At 64 years old I can cry with emotion and joy, as ABBA taught me with their songs, to unite all feelings in the same song Thanks to these four Swedes, whose music should be declared a World Heritage Site Thank GOD for having the Fabulous Four together again eternal thanks to Agnetha Faltskog Benny Anderson Bjorn Ulvaeus Anni Frid Lyngstad and long live ABBA Happy 50 years ABBA fans My best regards to all from Buenos Aires, Argentina South América

Beautiful ABBAsolutely beautiful thankyou BB for a superb presentation, with tears in my eyes. That day 29th March 1972 ,4 very special people ,two couples with a plan, an idea,a concept took there first steps into a studio as successful solo artists in Sweden to form a group and together give birth to a phenomenon that lives on to this moment 50 years on.Like the moon landing,ABBA took a small step for Sweden,a giant leap into the WORLD, and gave and still gives humanity ,we ,their devoted loving fans their gift of music and love it is all so surreal and supernatural that even they have said they could not believe or comprehend the phenomenon they became and still are ,how do you explain a sunrise or the stars in the heavens at night ,you cannot, it exists ,and so to does ABBA you can see it ,you can feel it in your heart and mind and it suspends your belief but the beauty and perfect harmony bring it all together to be bound ,tied into your very soul to bring completeness and definition to your life. And in your soul ABBA permeate their love, meaning, healing and message for your life experiences, throughout your life until your last breath .29th March 1972 Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Annifrid 4 Swedes walked into a studio to join together in music and song and walked out into the world as ABBA ,a cataclysmic event that still creates tremors to every part of this planet and brings joy and happiness to ALL.

Indeed, who would have thought their loose idea would lead to this, 50 years onwards. Oh, how I enjoyed reading your thoughtful, emotional words. "How do you explain a sunrise or the stars in the heavens at night" - indeed, we can't explain it at all. We can only continue to talk and listen in awe. Funny how you mentioned the moon - to which Benny was imitatively looking at in their video, haha. Thanks for your very kind words and support as always, Michael!

Bobby’s Brother thank you for yet another brilliant epic video for the Universal Chronicles of ABBA. You have an almost scientific or historian like approach to the ABBA story. Your talent to connect content and events in the half century of ABBA is the extraordinary. It elevates the ABBA SAGA to an almost spiritual level. Surely, by now you claimed your place in ABBA’s Universal Kingdom..... You deserve to be acknowledged by the ABBA Team sooner rather than later.

ABBA have been around all my life with Bjorn and Benny meeting the week before I was born. When they won Eurovision in 1974 I wasn't quite 8 years old and became a bigger fan two years later in 1976. Who would've thought 50 years after they went into the studio to record their first songs, we would still be talking about them. 2022 also happens to be the 30th anniversary of Gold being released. That album has sold millions since its release.

Superbious!!! Another video already, not complaining! This one is put together like a pro, really great work, BB! People Need Love was actually released in the US on "Playboy Records!" However we didn't hear any early tracks until the release of the first Greatest Hits album. The album Ring Ring didn't have it USA release until the 1990's! I've always found this period from 1969-1973 fascinating, as a wealth of ABBA member songs are flying around all over the place. It was definitely practice for what became officially (marketed as) ABBA in 1974. Best part, 50 years later we are still listening, enjoying new a best selling album, and anxiously awaiting the opening of the ABBA Voyage Arena and the new ABBAtar shows!

Rewatcing your video and some other, it just "flashed" in my mind that German Tv show from Nov.'82 right at the ending of "Underattack".ABBA fans in the studio got kinda out of hands and rushed on stage (some of them holding flowers) to hug them.A fan "grabed" a kinda "scary" Agnetha wrapping loving arms around her while another boy kissed a happily surprised and joyful Frida in the mouth!I don't know if this footage was originally shown at the time but it is available in the net, anyway. That was the real "love in return".They took and still take back all the love and beauty that they gave us.10:30..the face of that man, bravely struggling to control his river of tears publicly, is mirroring the ocean of sacred feelings that miilions of us erupted that day (2nd Sept.'21...)10:37 ...Oh what a striking sight!Magnificent, causing me euphoria..9:30..Just .chills!.

50 AWESOME YEARS...even those in between 1982 and 2021 have some gems to treasure. The first time I heard 'People Need Love' in the UK was one of four songs on the 1976 album 'Greatest Hits', the Ring Ring album wasn't released here officially until 1991. Such a shame Universal haven't given the fans something for this amazing 50th Anniversary. It a great little tune and really demonstrates what happened when the four members got together in the studio, with Agnetha and Frida contibuting that yodel to the track the same way as Agnetha would discover the only way to sing 'Hasta Manana' and Frida would invent that obligato line she performs on 'The Day Before You Came' ten years after this one.

Hej, Trevor. I'd think it's definitely in the realms of possibilities. Benny sounded too open about those two songs last year. Whatever happens, I'm sure they will have *something* in store, and as always surprise us. Many thanks for your kind words!!

@@bobbysbrother137 for me they wouldn’t even need to create any new songs, I would love to hear a full Abba version of, ‘Someone else’s story’… ‘You and I’ …or, ‘I know him so well’. And another I thought of could be a song to accompany that beautiful music piece from Benny’s Piano album, ‘Trostevisa’

Even though I don't understand Swedish, I love their early music and solo music in Swedish. I have a CD called ABBA pa Svenska which is great! Also love Agnetha Vol 1 and Vol 2. I also have some Hootenanny Singers, Hep Stars, and Frida CDs. I love your videos too. TV networks in USA, Europe, Australia, etc. should combine your videos into a TV special about ABBA. Thank you from New Jersey USA.

I really wonder if the official record company will do something very special to celebrate this event and not just an 9 LP Vinyl or pic disc box the 27th may. They deserve more than that for 50 years of music, especially when I see high quality & clever products made for star like The Beatles, Elton John, David Bowie or the Bee Gees...

@@bobbysbrother137 I know Abba themselves are not especially in celebration dates, especially with the "retirement" of the 2 ladies, it's more an attention of the fans for the group and the record companies wanting to sell more stuffs with the minimum of creative investment. But I noticed that Trafalgar-Warner Bros presents a digitally restored version of "Abba the movie" in 450 theaters in USA & Canada during 2 days in May to make a celebration, many ABBA special magazines editions have been published in different countries, we'll see if the grammys next sunday could have also a little impact if they win, so I guess the focus is now around the opening date concert in London, the best would be a new unrealeased song as a single as B & B planned but it was before the all album. As they are very goo to keep secret :) any surprise is still possible. The next step I see it's a DVD documentary for Christmas about the all concept of Voyage with some live Abbatars snippets in it...
